im cut that i can't go and see this im really looking forward to shihads new album, love is the new hate was a powerhouse 8 May 2007 2:21 P Shihad join venue’s 10th Birthday celebrations Aloha Management is pleased to announce the inclusion of Shihad as part of the Hi Fi Bar & Ballroom 10th Birthday celebrations with a very special show on Thursday June 7. Shihad have a long history with the venue having launched several of their records at the venue - including 2005 Love Is The New Hate – and the Hi Fi Bar has been as much a stalwart of Shihad’s national touring circuit as seeing Jon Toogood climbing around the roof of the Hi Fi. Joining Shihad will be Rook and Calling All Cars. Tickets are on sale Friday May 10 from the Hi Fi and usual outlets, see below for complete list. Shihad are currently bunkered down in their Melbourne studio writing and working on the material for Beautiful Machine. From what’s been heard on stage and from demo sessions, the new album will find Shihad returning to their pop sensibilities with some lighter more atmospheric songs likely to feature on the record. With the new tunes due at the end of the year, Melbourne Shihad fans should not miss this opportunity to hear the band preview new material alongside their older material that always strikes a chord with their audience. “…today they prove yet again why they’re still one of the finest rock acts to call Australia home – ‘The General Electric’, ‘Home Again’ and “All The Young Fascists’ sound as good as they ever have.’ Time Off, 25.03.07 SHIHAD With special guests Rook & Calling All Cars THURSDAY JUNE 7 The Hi Fi Bar & Ballroom TICKETS ON SALE FRIDAY MAY 10, 2007 Tickets $22 + booking fee pre sale from www.thehifi.com.au, www.tpa.net.au, www.shihad.com Hi Fi phone charge 03 9654 7617, Ticketek, Missing Link & Rare Records. $27 at the door (if available).

just a little info for myself in a public forum.. Sunk Loto have broken up. 2004s between birth and death was quite possibly the greatest australian metal album ever. Shame really, they were supposed to be recording their new album for a july release...
And new tomahawk and manson leaked a week or so back..

oh we were all young, broadband was a novelty, torrrents weren't around, napstar & audio galaxy had just died ... those were the days! ... we needed a trading community to get stuff back then, now everything is just so readily available. like its nice to know that at least 24hours after the Pumpkins first show, we'll be able 'hopefully' download a copy of the show.

Umm, maybe this is old news to some people, but Interpol have a new one coming out on exactly the same day as the Pumpkins, I thought that was pretty cool, since they're one of my faves:)! This is the right place to put it, right? I didn't want to start a new thread lest I be struck down by the black haired admin avenger! I wouldn't mind if they toured as well, this year is shaping up to be such a f**king great musical year.
And Audiogalaxy was alright, for the 5 minutes it lasted! hehehe

New Order did not Split
(www.neworderonline.com) A source close to the band told NewOrderOnline that the news about the split is false, New Order still exists despite what New Order's bassist said. Peter Hook can leave the band, but this doesn't mean the end of New Order.
We remind you that the claims of New Order's split originated from Peter Hook's blog on MySpace, apparently he didn't warn the rest of the band that were surprised about this news.
Joy division were Peter and Bernard's band initially, and becoming New order the band is truly democratif and have been treated as such,.
They are still a band but obviously things are being made increasingly difficult as Peter makes claims of a split.
The band is right now in Cannes for the premier of the biopic Control about the life of Ian Curtis.
