hehe i was coming in here to ask you what it was like Will pick it up on the weekend Yeah mate - I love it. To me - it will make the perfect cd for warm spring nights eating dinner outside with a glass of fine white. Or if you dont wanna get all pseudo-pretentious - it'll be tops for knocking back a few stubbies on warmer spring nights!

i wanna get that, even though i don't like Tom Waits... Blasphemy I heard one of the tracks and wasnt overly fond of what she'd done with it, it was some tacky 80's souning arrangement. I shall listen properly before judging though. Today I picked up the double cd case version of MCIS, as well as this... yes Kerrie, i got it: Sure to create some entertaining moments in the future.

I had a listen to the Scarlett Johansson album. I dont like it at all. There are bits i enjoyed, some parts her voice sounds really forbodding and fits really well, but for the most part she just doesnt have enough expression in her voice to carry those songs off, you can't sing a song like Anywhere I Lay My Head without a bucket of charisma, when Tom sings it its hard not to believe what he's singing, you cazn feel it. I thought the arrangements were pretty mundane as well for the most part, they could have experimented heaps more, al lot of them feel really anacronistic, which i get to a point, waits has always been about making the old new, but he always came up with new ways of reinventing old concepts, pushing the boundaries, i just didnt feel like a lot of the songs added anything. The production sounds great, it just irks me to think how good this could have been and its just flat and mundane for most of it. Even the songs i like the arrangements of and like how she's delivering them, I cant make out what she's singing half the time, which pretty much destroys the exercise :s

Just bought the new album by The Offspring, always been a big fan. It's awesome. This really sounds like a better progression for them than the train-wreck that was "Splinter", and hence is a much better album.

Rosetta- Wake/Lift I saw them play last night and was interested to see what they were like on record. Its interesting if not always totally compelling stuff. Not really my favourite kind of music but they have some cool ideas going for them, i feel like it could be better at times though... jaded lol.

What do you think about real gone? pretty interesting album that one... Yeah its a weird one, i have to listen to it more its definitely a pretty dense album, i really like hoist that rag, Ribot's guitar work is crazy good as usual, and shake it... "dont go into that barn" is the song that really haunts me a lot... I was expecting it to be different to what it is, i knew it was political, but i thought it would be... i dunno different. I like the direction he took it though, makes perfect sense, taking his weird world of circus freaks and turning his gaze to political anacronism and inaction, i love: "Well we stick our fingers in the ground, Heave and turn the world around Smoke is blacking out the sun At night I prey and clean my gun" yeah more listens are necessary to get into it fully though.

One Day As A Lion - Self Titled ep.
Zack De La Rocha's new project with Jon Theodore (Ex-Mars Volta). Really loving it. I'd describe it is this beautiful sounding raw and organic hip hop with some great drumming from Theodore.
