We will ad more as they are posted. The flac version on Zomb is from the MTV broadcast so the last song is cut very early! On www.splra.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tsp2007-06-02 it says there's a superior audio recording of the full concert (from the webstream?). Any idea where to get the best and most complete audio version? Thanks.

the mix sounds really good on the webstream, so i'm guessing its that version, and its also the full thing. Only thing is the stream is around 128k mp3.. so i dont know if 'some' people would say its better

Yes, exactly, the audio version is from MTV, but I'm looking for a complete audio one so one from the webstream.
I guess I need to download the webstream video and rip the audio of it.

I'm watching now, Silverfuck just kicked in and the cat jumped a foot in the air. heh.
Gotta say, I'm loving the new version of Shame they're playing on this tour.
Billy's smile at the start made me laugh and cry at the same time.
My band is back, and they kick ass.

WOW. I downloaded the DVD from the Traders Den overnight, only took about 12 hours in the end. Unbelievable performance. Billy seems so happy, even if he did appear very serious and focused through the entire performance. And I have to say, his singing was spot on - so much stronger than back in 2000 (of course we've seen this over the last few years with Zwan and TFE, but it REALLY shows when he sings songs like SIYL, Tarantula and Bullet and they come out the way they did). Tarantula was near flawless. Jimmy is incredible - and United States is insane live. SPChick, I concur - this version of shame is awesome. Maybe it would have sounded like this on Adore if Jimmy was around!? Either way, it's probably one of my favourite 'alternate' versions of a studio released song. What are people's opinions of Jeff and Ginger? Hard to see the band without at least James in the begining, but the image is starting to grow on me already.......Ginger is tiny! I think her bass is longer than she is tall!! God Bless the Smashing Pumpkins. ;D

ginger is pretty small.. she must get boody cold wearing what she wears. And i think jeff could do with a haircut Uli looked pretty unco on guitar.. was it just me or was it massive compared to him? And the new shame is really great.. i love the sing-a-long bit in to sheila

Uli looked pretty unco on guitar.. was it just me or was it massive compared to him? He did and he guitar was up to loud to start with, it sounded a bit off during Gossamer at the start. But still was pretty cool to have him up there on stage with the band ... even if it ended up just being a dueling guitars thing.

Wow, this is the first time I've seen or heard Gossamer... just watching those three youtube vids now. Am I the only one who thinks it'd be awesome if Billy recruited David Gilmour to play in the extended solo part in the middle? The song has a very epic Pink Floyd-y type feel to it.

Post by autolux on Jun 5, 2007 7:53:39 GMT 7
yeh felt very pink floyd during the middle.. im guessing its a pretty heavy patch on an eventide giving that sound, lot going on really, it suits the song.. its a slightly weird sound they're going thru now, super super clean with a weird processed gothy tinge, slightly like futurembrace, the synth stuff especially.
and uli jon roth is fucking amazing, my flatmate listens to nonstop bullshit breaks music but knows everything about viruoso guitarists, he was blown away when i showed him. you'd do well to listen to electric sun if you haven't heard his stuff.

i think another guitar is a welcom addition to the song just gives when they are all doing the melody at the start it sounds really great. I wonder if there are many overdubs on the studio version playing that melody on different octaves.

I didn't like the way Uli felt the need to improvise on the "main" riff, i.e. not doing what BC and JS were doing, rhythmwise. and i think certain notes were out of key when he was harmonizing. and he seemed really unsure of how the riff went, too - he drops out at points where you can see that he's a bit confused.

i was able to sit down for the fist time last night and watch some of the dvd, it's soooo awesome. HOW COOL IS HIS SCREAM IN BWBW? i got as far as United States, then fell asleep there is a 13 version of the audio rip on zombtorrents, if people don't know who 13 is, he's pretty much an audio guru and he does tweaks and stuff to make recordings better, he only works with SB recordings and TV ones like this one. get it if you can, it's good.

Improv is about feeling your way through it, if you make a mistake oh well. They were having fun out there, how often does billy crack that big of a smile?

Exactly Foxy, I bet it went something like this: "What? Uli from the Scorpions is here? Shit! G'day mate, look we've just finished our set, but if you wanna come and jam we're going back for an encore." "Sweet dude. Let's rock. Watcha playin'?" "Gossamer." "Hmmm. Haven't heard that one before. Ah fuck it, I've been playing guitar for 40 years, I'll work it out after a few bars. Hey Billy, do you mind if I make it up a little bit as we go along?" "Sure. Didn't you see us playing 'Transmission' at the Spielbudenplatz back in '98? Even we weren't sure what we were playing in the end."
*Conversation may or may not have actually occurred.

As far as it being spontanious it wasnt, but as far as rehearsals, i dont think they had time to really do anything.. i really liked that they were just jaming though.. where is the fun in having a guest on stage if its just the same version again?
