What do you guys think was the best show they did in Australia? Never saw them live, but for me it would have to be the secret gig in Sydney.....fantastic

I saw them in Melbourne during the 96 and 98 tours. Best two nights of my life. I was so little back in 96, the show was on my 14th birthday and I was sooooo excited, so much so that I cant remember much of the night now. I remember being blown away but the sound, and the energy of them on stage. It was the first time I'd seen Billy with a shaved head and when he walked out on stage I was like "who's the bald guy?" I'd love to track down a recording of that night, they played a heap of great tracks... mmm... tasty.
I have the 98 show on cd, and its awesome. It brought back so many memories. I went with my best friend and his friends and I was so excited and blabbered like a fool the whole way there. We had good seats too. They played a fantastic set. Someone got a "Zero" chant going and Billy was like "Nah we dont play that anymore" but then at the end they played half of it... ahhh sweet bliss. And Billy ran around the stage, posing for a camera and he RUNS LIKE A GIRL! And I giggled a lot.
So yeah, in answer to your question. I'd have to say those two shows were the best, because they are the ones I saw... yay.

The secret 2001 MAchina mystery cabaret and live action and musical exhibition. Only tru fans that decoded the hidden messages in the machina booklet were allowed entry. It was held in the carpark of that "Giant Worm" place in Gippsland, the one on the way to Phillip Island (i think). It was truely amazing, the entire show went for three days. They played every SP song in alphabetical order, covered entire albums, such as MBV's "Loveless", MC Hammer's "Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em", Radiohead's "Kid A" (which was more amazing seeing as though it wasn't released until later that year) , Seasame Street's "Counting with the Count" and also the Electric Boogaloo soundtrack. Billy also gave a lecture on lead-acid batteries, while James and Jimmy served salad to the crowd (all 4 of us). The highlight was by far the 28 and a half hour "Sweet Sweet" jam and the live version of TOASE in which they were accompanied by that homeless guy that plays the drum on old ice-cream containers and buckets out the front of the state library and that bind chick who plays the accordian. I recorded all three days via a CB radio connected to my Nokia mobile and then layed down magnetically by a dicta-phone. Email me for trades.
