I think Trents voice may be a little gone from what i am hearing.
He was pissed with the roadie's last nite - Lead to him actually talking a little.

a friend of ours, who is doing the full tour, spoke to the tour manager and he found out that the real reason is Trent isn't happy at all with the stage crew. Apparently there have been issues with the lighting and general stage stuff.
So they have been working over the past few nights to get it happening, I guess this means there will be enough time to get everything right for the Melbourne shows.
Such a shame, oh they are using Trents voice as the cover story. They apparently did the same in the European tour, when they weren't happy with the crew there either.

Glad I got in for the first show then, there was a bit of angst there, I liked it, and what about "Suck", I was just soooooo psyched to hear that! By the time it was played I was a few rows from the front too, yayy! It sucks ass for the people that have tix to the 2nd and 3rd show though, it really does. I can see Trent being quite demanding with the stage crew though. Yeah, and in the end I wore a Tori T-shirt, thought it was quite appropriate, and nobody gave me shit, I actually got a bit of respect! I was gonna wear my "Leave me alone" pumpkins one, but I thought I'd go for the Tori one due to the connection, god I'm lame, hehehe. Getting shit for a Radiohead shirt? I guess you're always gonna get a few wankers like that. Fuck em!

Yeah he was pretty pissed, i think he was enjoying the show and the fans but the production was dragging him down
When the lihts were to be turned up, and it took a while he said "Are the lights going to come on? I like the dark as much as the next guy but turn the fucking lights up"
Then before Hurt, the mike was set up wrong so he picked it up, slammed it on the ground and before you could type LOL, two roadies were on it (totally shitting themselves)

I noticed that the front page of nin.com says next gig melb and is that photo on there of melb? It looks like they might have gone there straight away today to try and get everything sorted. Either we will have NO gig on Sunday, or we will have a fucking awesome gig...i hope for the latter. *fingers crossed*

this is fucked, i only wanted to see serena and now thats 2 nights wasted and they won't return to australia in september just for two shows, absolute fucked... my gf hung out with serena on thursday a few hours before the cancellation was announced and they were all happy because trent had hired a massive yacht for a huge afterparty that night.. most people i've spoken to said trent was pissed with the venue as well, being a huge shakey mess... fair enough, but get over yrself and just fuckin play... the friday night show still had heaps of tickets left..
so many poor bastards must have travelled a long way for those shows...

i had a ticket to see Ministry late last year and they never even landed in Australia. a cancelled show is enough to put people off a band if you're really only half interested to start with.
how was serena maneesh? they should play a side show... or are they?

they won't return to australia in september just for two shows, absolute fucked... that may be the case, but do you think NIN will return just for the 2 shows? I reckon they'll do a full tour with just big shows in each city.. little hopeful.. probably.

Yeah my mate and I arrived at Luna Park to find that the show had been postponed. The thing that really pissed me off is that they didn't make much attempt to let people know. We even rang Triple J and they had no idea about the cancellation, either.
So yeah, I imagine they'll come back for another full tour. Hopefully Trent will give ticket holders for these shows some nice surprises for being such an emo pussy on this tour.

Yeah I was gonna get a last minute ticket to the Melb. show on the 15th, but I don't wanna risk it. I'll just wait for the next dates in September (I'm sure they'll announce some more other than the two canceled Sydney shows).

melb was pretty damn cool, i loved it, way better than the with teeth tour. some dick was yelling out during hurt, the last of which was a really loud "hey trent what are you doing later tonight?" in a quiet part, 5 seconds later trent stopped and said "what was that, what did you say? .... am i supposed to act like i didnt' hear that?" he didn't play the rest of hurt, they skipped to the hand that feeds and then left the stage half hour early, nothing after at all. quite an amazing statement i thought, i was happy with it, they had played for over an hour already, and to see him take a stand like that and really be himself and play how he felt on the night was great, so much energy. he was having a lot of guitar troubles the whole gig too, at least 5 times at the end of a song he literally threw the guitar off on to the stage, throwing it 2-5 metres at a time. it's a shame about the problems and the dickhead in the crowd, but it was awesome to see trent and the band just being a fucking awesome band, and being true to themselves, i left feeling really fullfilled, more than normal, it's almost my gig of the year so far, and one of my top 10 gigs ever i'm sure. here's hoping things work out for the next two nights...

Setlist:
Somewhat Damaged (awesome intro) You Know What You Are? Sin March Of The Pigs Piggy The Beginning Of The End Survivalism Ruiner Burn Gave Up Help Me I Am In Hell The Frail The Good Soldier Wish Only (without trents guitar) Capital G (premier) Suck Hurt [half way through some guy yelled some shit out and TR got pissed as usual] THTF head like a hole (not played)
No 'closer'.. didnt bother me, never a huge fan of the song, and i prefer not to ear it live. The band was on fire, and the first half was some of the best concert momments of my life.. was awesome. The crowd was generally prety good until hurt.. huge ing alongs etc.
Ruiner was fucking awesome though!!
Me, I'm not was emant to be played but with computer problems just wheeled it away and went onto help me i'm in hell, (or the frail.. somewhere there)
Somewhat damaged was an fucking great intro.. lights stayed on and trent just walked out on stage and the song started, nodimming, chanting etc..
until the end it was a great concert. When trent stopped singing and said about if he is meant to ignore assholes that yell out the crowd cheered like it was all a joke.. i was pissed off after having read it happened in europe.. but yeah.. shitty ending, awesome gig.

i got some great photos, Kerrie, Jesse and Jimmy [celloguy] got there at about 10am at the metro, and met some spiral kids and pretty much just hang around there for the rest of the day, got some food, then some beer. And we then was told to line up down an ally way, and that was still an hour away til we would be let in, we were about 20 people back in the line, even though we should of been around 10 (a numbering system was put in place by the spiral guys on who got there when, it was good while it lasted). And we finally got let in, Jimmy and i were able to seal a spot on the rail on the left hand side. At this point our legs were pretty tired, and lucky we had the rail to lean against. serena manesh(however you spell it) were alright, i liked them. then NIN came on, but they sorta just came on when the lights were still on, and it just started rocking!! was great. Highlight was when trent came out onto the speaker stack right infront of us during piggy and then at the end chucked the mic out, jimmy grabed it, then started singing it, then i joined in, was awesome!!! and the front stage manager told us to keep singing when trent went back to centre stage. I got a lot of cool photos, i'm at work now, so when i get home, i'll try and put them all up quickly tonight oh and found scott the giant walking out, talked to him for a bit, then saw trev walking around without his shirt on, haha. then hang out with spiral kids til about 2am

oh, and something that pisses me off, i left to get a drink during only, then managed to make my way to the stairs to go down the few steps to the floor.. only to find some dumb bitch blocking steps when there is room infront of her. its not your fucking steps wench move you're fucking arse! I can understand if its a cramped area and people are just gonna stand infront if you move bck.. but people wanted to get to the floor. She eventually let some chick through, and i just barged my way through.. felt guilty for about half a second.. but fuck! ok.. rant over! i swear..
on a side note, i think they should go back to playing the band version of hurt rather then just having trent and te piano, atleast that way you wont be able to ehar the dickheads yelling as much..

We even rang Triple J and they had no idea about the cancellation, either. I disagree, i know i wasnt the one who went to the venue etc so this is all well and good for me to say, JJJ is government funded, but its not a public service station. I listen JJJ at work and i heard bucky announce the cancellations during his show (3-5.30). What more can you expect?

Holy shit Josh, I dont think there's any way I can ever repay you for letting me be your spiral +1, that was the most insane thing ever. Im still in shock from trents intent gaze. Somewhat Damaged!!!!! Ruiner!!!!!! The Frail>Good Soldier!!! Capital G! And yeah, Piggy wtf?? I seriously thought i was going to freak out and die from the bass during Burn and whatever songs had that subsequent brain shuddering bass. That was certainly the most intense thing ive ever seen. In many ways...
