Now, now, theres no need for that, and besides, a JFK style shooting would take a lot of preperation, not to mention the masonic initiation rituals.....

Fantastic, the Australian tour that doesn't include Perth. AWESOME! We saw Nick on the 2004 tour, it was one of the best gigs we ever went to, he closed with Stagger Lee ... enough said. Best. Ending. Ever. I can't believe he played it! He closed with it here in Adelaide also. Fantastic wasn't it.

Ending. Ever. I can't believe he played it! He closed with it here in Adelaide also. Fantastic wasn't it. Oh it was amazing. I loved how epic it was, with the back up singers too. I loved the "... He slobbers on his head and Stag fills him full of LEAD!!!!" and then it just ended up being this manic sound of the entire band and the just stopping and hearing that bass line and it was so quiet. Such a haunting song with strong/graphic lyrics, that I think to everybody they visualize it in their own way.

oh man, that sounds kinda sad. Is it up on You Tube yet, i wanna see. They sounded like they were doing so well in the USA with Straight Lines being added to 30 radio stations the other week!

yeah it was on youtube, i watched it yesterday, its been removed since.
SC are funny about live stuff ending up on Youtube.
and yeah it was bad. Daniel went to start singing "waking up in the morning" ... and his voice just went. You could see (and hear) the strain in his face. He was bright red from straining so much, it was pretty bad to watch. Just because I know how great his voice sounded on the Oz tour here.
I think its because he puts so much strain on his voice in the live shows.

awww poor dan, i wish i could see it. I hope he gets better soon, its so sad that this huge US performance had to go so badly through no fault of theirs poor 'chair. <edit> i just found the clips of both late night performances they did (leno and ferguson) and i felt so bad for dan on the leno one. All he could do was try and scream it out, i bet he felt so embarassed, poor things.

$230? I wouldn't even pay that to see the Pumpkins, let alone The Police. Each to their own I guess, but in the case of sunky and myself, we have to buy 2 tickets for everything - y'know being married and all... gigs get expensive.

well thats not the announced ticket price, it might be lower. I guess we did pay $150 to see Bowie a few years back ...

would you guys really not see the pumpkins if they toured and charged 230 bucks? I would probably only see them once for that price.. but it'd still be something that has to be done

It would depend, if it meant that we had to fly over east (which is most likely the case) we would be up for the following: $550ish for tickets, flights - $850ish (for both of us) ... $1400 for one show ... we'd do it (no ifs or buts) ... but I wouldnt be happy about it.
But we know that won't be the case, SP would only charge about $70 or so.

its funny, just how do they think they can get away with it? Its not like our dollar is that bad anymore so they cant use the old, "well it costs us so much more to get them out here" line. Then theres venue rental, ohh well acer arena is so so expensive, $230 times 10 000 = 2.3 million, two shows at acer = 4.6million in ticket sales alone.
thats bloody crazy talk.

I know, but compared to the US$20 charged by the Pumpkins, it doesn't make a whole lotta sense... and Scotty, it would be hideously expensive for Simon and I (who are saving for a house and all that) to spend so much money on one (theoretical) show. Like I said, every gig we go to is doubled in price because we have to buy 2 tickets. In other news, Bobby Brown is convinced that Al-Qaeda are after him... this guy has got to lay off the smack... www.undercover.com.au/News-Story.aspx?id=2456

Didnt the drummer from the police recently up a blog about how shit they sounded on this reunion tour and that he thought it was hilarious because he hates Sting and loved seeing him look like a fool. I think that's one reunion we can definitely say is in it for the money.
