i got my mario galaxy all booked up solid.. looking forward to thurs. in this video game generation day & age a new core mario release = an event! hey did anyone ever play a game called eternal darkness: sanity's requiem on the camecube? i just got it off ebay (where money can buy you smiles!) & it's an awesome survival horror dealie with a great little twist - it has an insanity meter that your character gradually loses, & the more insane you get, the weirder shit starts getting! pretty inconsequential shit, but definitely helps make the game feel creepy.. so, anyone? cos i've never ever once seen it in aust shops..

Its pretty cool, except I can see why a lot have people have complained about it being repetitive. Its sort of a mixed bag. There is a lot to like, but also a lot of things that are frustrating.

i'm a bit of a nerd, I prefer games like Civilisation, Heroes of might and magic and any simulation stuff like sims, haverst moon, playboy, bully. Was thinking of joining WoW, but might take up my time.
Just got guitar hero 3, it has way better songs, as well as Pumpkins! But I like the other two as well.
Getting a wii for xmas, any suggestions, i like the looks of paper mario and mario galaxy, growing up I loved my nes, i always wanted a super nes, but wasn't allowed.

Pikmin is very addictive and pointless and cute. oh man - i loved this game! i never had a cube but my mate did i wish they had it on pc! i loved City of Heroes - man thats addictive! Also stuff like Madden NFL, Age of Empires, Heroes of Might & Magic, Tiger Woods Golf my faves are definitely the puzzle type ones like pikmin. oh oh oh - i used to love Sheep, Dog and Wolf on PS1. Its a Wile E. Coyote game where you solve puzzles and stuff with Acme products to steal sheep without waking the dog. Its unreal, especially if you love the Road Runner cartoons as much as me!

i just finished The Sims 2:castaway, it really rocks i love it! So much to do and explore, plus the sims seem less needy.
I also took up the ten day trial for WoW, oh my god, I'm so glad it was only ten days I couldn't stop playing.

I'm slowly getting back into single player gaming (Half Life 2: Ep2, FEAR, Aliens vs Predator2) ever since I got a proper sound card - hated playing with on board audio (no surround sound!).
But I still play multi player most of the time. Mainly Team Fortress 2 or Warfare in UT3.

Call of Duty 4 on PC is awesome. Don't know what gaming engine they use, but it is soooo smooth and runs so well, it makes everything else look and feel ancient.
Company of Heroes is my favourite strategy game, but I'm stuck on one level and can't get furher. Soo hard in parts...
Is assasin's creed any good? Looks to be pretty cool.

Not sure if its been mentioned, but has anyone been to the Game On exhibition at ACMI at Fed Square in Melb? I went last week, and it is pretty darn cool! Has over 120 games from the 60's till now for you to play. Starts off with the old arcades, like pacman, Metal Slug, Space Invaders...then to games like original Monkey Island, Prince of Persia, Final Fantasy, and finally to newer games like Wii Sports, Halo 3, etc. After a while it felt like a lock in at Time Zone! haha Costs $15 to get in ($10 for students i think) but i had a ball. Brought back so many memories. Then I realised that I could play a lot of the games once i got home. haha And on top of that, I got an awesome Space Invaders mouse pad form the gift shop! and it doesn't make my mouse skip! EDIT: oh, and there is this awesome Mario sign out the front that is good for posing in front of for photos. Its pretty hard to miss.

Just bought Mafia last week.
Excellent excellent game. I wish more developers focussed on story & characters instead of graphics &..graphics.

Wow. Sure are a lot of FPS fans around here! I'm a RPG player myself, and have been for many years. I'm playing Final Fantasy XII and have been sporadically (ie. when I have some free time) since it was released in 2006.

I'm mostly into japanese RPGs too. I haven't been able to get into FFXII though unfortunately. Not sure about the combat system and the story and characters didn't grab me. It might be also because I don't have time anymore to pour 60 hours into a game
