ok I have been only using bit.torrent downloading sites for a lil while now, about month or so, are there are good sites people can recommend. basically 3 places im loving at the moment are: www.suprnova.orgwww.sharingthegroove.orgbt.easytree.org/any others, most of these sites don't have good SP shows on them, which kinda sux ... but they have many other awesome shows. this week alone I have got. Manic Street Preachers - 1997 @ Manchester REM - 1995-07-05 [2 disc] Smashing Pumpkins - Den Haag [Jan 19th 1992] ... its the same as From the Mixing Desk, except its the full the show, but i think from the one listen I have given it its the sped up version. Currently Downloading: Weezer, some show from 2002 David Bowie with NIN [from the Outside tour] - im freaking out waiting to hear this 2 disc show. Bowie covers Reptile! ... ohh yeah!

thats a cool DVD from the bluenote. Got it a few years back thankfully as i've been banned from zomb for shitty share ratio

yeah thats something i hate about the ZOMB. Like my upload speed is pretty shit and its hard to share stuff there when you're usually downloading from 1 other person.
Then making people pay to be able to download again, defeats the purpose of supplying recordings etc for fans.

I managed there without a problem for over a year on a 128k upstream What do you expect to happen when you jump on a DVD that was added there 6 months ago sunky? And the "making people pay" line is a crock of shit, come on, it's just another option if you find your ratio is in the red and you don't want to be banned Which is something that wouldn't happen to anyone who took their actions (ie: sharing/giving as much as they take) on a private tracker like that seriously

well im sorry when i started trading bootlegs etc over 10 years ago (back in the cassette days) with people i would do everything to help people out, it wasn't to make people pay to make a small slice of the pie. It was about stopping people making money off recordings from bands and so people didn't have to pay ANY money to hear those illegal recordings.
Bree and I have been running a site like Ozphoria and never once asked for money for people - thats what I have a problem with. You start something to help fellow fans out - you don't try and make a profit out of them wanting to enjoy music etc from bands. That whole site was started so people could share the recordings of Zwan as they were played and it was great when it started, if you want to ask for donations - thats fine - but to force people to pay to keep using your site then thats wrong in my opinion. You may aswell ask them sign up for a membership fee, that is them then making money off sharing bootlegs which should always been given away for free, unless officially released by the band.
It would be just like us saying here if you don't post enough we are deleting your account - unless you pay us $1, we can't expect everybody to come here every week, it doesn't make somebody a lesser in the community if they don't post enough.
As for that DVD - sure its 6 months old thats cool - i expected there wouldn't be much action. But when its such a small community you can't expect people to keep seeding something that takes up 4G of their hard drive space. Considering I spend alot of time on my machine designing and editing I need as much space as possible for clients work - its not just for my music collection. So after I download something it's pretty much shared for as long as I can before I need to reclaim that space to finish a project for a client. But when I kept seeding for 2 weeks with no action, it was time to use that hard drive space for a clients project.

Again, they're not trying to make a profit or force people to donate It's there if you want to, or as a last resort to help your ratio It would be just like us saying here if you don't post enough we are deleting your account - unless you pay us $1, we can't expect everybody to come here every week, it doesn't make somebody a lesser in the community if they don't post enough. I disagree, i think it's a little different

obviously we aren't going to agree on this. i don't have the time i used to have downloading torrents and bootlegs, so when I downloaded that DVD it was like - shit i really want that, i didn't think Oh should I download this how will this affect my ratio etc - its something I wanted, so i downloaded it.
Its a great place and I've supported the ZOMB since the very early days. The reason I started a new account was that my original account (username sunky) was barred due to a low share rate. However it was ages since I had been there and for me to get there after months of not going there to come and find my account of a few years had been stopped due my share ratio, i was a little pissed. A warning email or something like that would have been nice, if they sent one I didn't get it.
If you're cool with their rules, then thats cool.
