Members:
During the past week there has been problems with the board, we are trying to figure out how to fix these. This thread that had much discussion in it about the APC tour starting soon, lost all its information and had to be deleted.
We are sorry for this, but continue the conversation. The latest information told in this thread was that The Mars Volta are going to be the support for A Perfect Circle.

I'm not so pleased that Mars Volta are supporting. They are good, from what I've heard on cd, but what I've also heard from friends about their performance at Big Day Out being like one big jam session, seems a bit disappointing. Only time will truly tell in 12 days time - Sydney, 20th Feb. Woot!!!

I hope to god it's Mars Volta, as i quite like them. We should organise a meet-up

Well I saw APC a few nights ago now.... Auf der Maur? - In a word - horrible. Absolutely horrible horrible music. APC? - In a word - unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievably unbelievable music. They are so good it scares me - tightest band I've heard. Live, their sound is just so intense, and it swirls all around you - I just shut my eyes and stood there for large parts of the gig. But the highlight of course had to be Iha. Pumpkins fans who own Pumpkins boots or were fortunate enough to see them live when James was at his Jamesy-best will not be disappointed. The man has not changed. He just stood there (new Peroxide hair and the one black Les Paul all night) looking serious and playing his parts for most of the night. Then Maynard gave him the mic and he told two of the worst jokes ever. He then proceeded to rant on about nothing in particular until Maynard just took the mic off him mid-sentence. But the best.......... was when James played solo!! Yes, you heard right. It was one of his country-style songs about girls and boys and love and it was fantastic (whether it was an original or a Velvet Underground cover - After Hours? as someone suggested - I don't know). Everyone got right behind him and it was the greatest moment ever. Full stop.

Friday night was incredible. Jess and I got to Horden Pavillion at about 6:30pm. We would have been earlier, but we seriously got fucked around. I rang Josh when we got there. He was nice enough to save a spot in line for us. Finally found them and I met Tobs properly and Caitlin. It was 7ish when they started letting people in after a pat down. ooo I for some reason was not pat down by the security lady. Doesn't worry me. We waited at our respective doors 1&2. As soon as the doors were open we piss bolted towards the stage and waited. After a while some bored person decided to blow up some condoms and pass it around. Too bad if that person got lucky later. lol Then a while later "Giants of Science" came on. Half an hour later they were off and we were patiently waiting for APC. People were slowly pushing their way through. To which I so lovingly pushed back. Yeah thats right. I'm not a person to be messed with. So finally APC came on and started with "Vanishing" I think. Whoever can remember the set list can post it here later. People began to surge forward and I was squised up against some guys. Maynard was behind this curtain thing, singing and playing what I believe to be timpanis with swirling lights. He was in the centre back. As you are looking at the stage, Josh was to the right and Billy was to the front of him. Jeordie was to the left of Billy and James was behind him. I remember at one stage during the first fews songs being pushed around by a bad moshing crowd, looking up and seeing Billy in a black suit and black shirt with something red in the pocket and red lights shining on him. That was a pretty awesome moment for me. After a few songs I had to get out of the mosh pit. I was getting that squished I couldn't breathe and I wasn't made any better when you finally get out and there are people all around you smoking despite the fact that there are signs everywhere saying no smoking and you were specially requested to not smoke before APC started. That sucked big hairy balls 'cause I'm an asthmatic and had to leave to get a drink and I ended up missing out on seeing James tell his joke. Knock, Knock Who's there? Little boy blue Little boy blue who Michael Jackson Lol Its a bad joke, but oh so funny. When I get back in, I stayed up the back. I could see so much better and had room to "dance". When they played "3 Libras", I moved towards the middle quickly. I sang along as loud as I could, louder than what I had been during the other songs. Its one of my favourites of their's and I got the chills listening to it. Hearing it live touched me so deeply that I went cold and covered in goosebumps despite how hot it was in there. The entire concert was incredibly amazing. I am still so blown away by how talented these guys are. Near perfect to how they sound on the albums. Its a good thing, not a bad thing. It proves how they have perfected their craft. They actually apologised for President Bush, which got a cheer from the crowd. There would have been about 5 -6 thousand people there. I sang to every song, I danced, well what I call dancing - erratic movements to music. Luckily, no-one I know saw. At the end, I met up with Jess and we brought some merch. I got some stickers (all I could afford) and Jess got a black tee with the slug on the front and tour dates on the back (it smelt like "box"). Then we got drinks and met up with Josh and Tobs at the taxi rank and chatted all about it. As it turns out SOMEONE lost Jess's ticket .... Jess didn't have any pockets and she gave her ticket to Caitlin. Later on, Caitlin gave the ticket to Josh who was meant to give back to us later, but sat it down somewhere. Don't worry too much. I gave Jess my ticket and we beat Josh up with bottles. I didn't sleep much that night. I was too euphoric to sleep. *sigh* APC were fucking amazing. I'm still completely blown away by them every time I think about it. ;D Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything.

hmm i don't know dude, i just found this online?:
"James and Jeordie also sang a song each , James sang one song he once performed with Nina Gordon who used to be in Veruca Salt called 'said sadly' and half way throught it he switched the lyrics about and started to sing a Velvet Underground song. Jeordie sang a song Will Ferral from SNL used in a skit and then he sang a song about Billy Corgan titled Billys got Britches, and then he went on about wanking."

Was there on Friday night, and it rocked. Hooray! As for James thing...um, couldn't really hear what he was singing that well, mostly because he wasn't singing very well (well, parts of it were ok, the start wasn't real good). I can't say I recognised the song. Was pretty cool anyway. That pants song rocks tho. What were the lyrics for that? I've forgotten already

This is Jess (stumbleine's buddy) and this my version of the apc concert on friday night. Well we got there late (stupid blonde-haird slut at the motel stuffed up our payment ) but lucky for us Josh (who i'd never met b4) had gotten there at like 4pm and had saved us a spot (sucked in to the people who were lined round the block ) then i meet caitlin- lovely girl i must say. I managed to enter the vicinity without a pat-down- phew- and then proceeded to door 2 to line up next a mullet and a pregnant women drinking rum. Wandering up to the stage caitlin and i get pulled through to jacqui, josh and toby's 5-from-the-front position to which i spot this really cute guy with a bag. "Giants of Science" come on to play and the lights give everyone a headache- ever heard of a sound check guys?!. Then finally apc come on and the crowd goes fucking crazy dickheads from the back are pushing forward and i grab onto the back of josh's shirt for dear life- note to toby: get fat soon i've got a bruise from your bony shoulder blade!!!!! then this crowd full of rude inconsiderate weiners decides to push everyone infront of them to the side- including me- and i verge on fainting-sorry to the people infront of me who got my knees in their asses. i desperately needed to get outta there so this nice guy grabs my hand and leads me out. thanks whoever you are so then i stumble out into the foyer and who happens to be there but the bag-guy!! so he buys me water and gives me powerade as i'm about to hit the floor- i love you wherever you are pm if your out there id love to hear from you. then i re-enter the concert to some lady trying to get me to go see the st. johns guy- but i'd missed out on enough already!!! the package and 3 libras totally rocked and if i had another $70 i would've done it all again. awesome doesnt even begin 2 explain the experience!!!!!!! ;D

I'm going to write more later, but for now this will do because I just got home from Sydney and need sleep for my first day of uni tomorrow.
There is no doubt about it. Seeing A Perfect Circle is an extremely amazing experience. I don't even know what other bands I'll be seeing this year, but I can tell you now that NOTHING will beat seeing them two nights in a row. Nothing.

i saw them saturday night, and it was fucking incredible!
they played soo tight and it just sounded awesome, but they joked around between songs which really gave a feeling of intimacy
at one stage they told james to do a guitar solo, he grabbed the mike and turned around and then started to make 'weedle waa waa waa' noises with his mouth.
when they told josh to do a drum solo he played the opening drum beat to 'man down under', and then did it again.
james did sing a song but i didnt recognise it, my friend told me it was a ramones song, he finished it by singing 'i dont know why but i think she will die'
i really loved the stage setup, it was interesting to note that most of the lights were behind the band to give their siloettes.
after they finished with judith james lingered and said that the other band members told him that he needed to dance. so josh drumed a beat and james started to dance, jeordie came out and joined him.
the show finished with billy jeordie and josh playing master of puppets

My stupid brain has just kicked in with some other things from the concert. During one of the songs, James starts playing the keyboard while looking at the audience. Sometime through it, Maynard took off his shirt. Maynard had the crowd calling Jeordie a fairy of some sort, so he would give his mic to James. At the end, I remember seeing Billy throwing water over the crowd .... *vacant expression on face* ..... thats all I can remember now.
