MADM's new project: www.xmadmx.com/Explore the site, its meant to be explored. Seems like she is doing a web comic with a soundtrack theme for the album, sounds very dark from the synopsis. xmadmx.com/synopsis.html

New stuff from Melissa! Former Smashing Pumpkins bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur (MADM) has recently updated her website and myspace to include an obscure instrumental track. The first bit of activity for a long time from this much loved member of the Pumpkins from 2000. Things has been quiet since the release of her first solo record, Auf Der Maur from 2005. After touring finished on that project MADM has taken some time away from the music industry. Last year in an interview, MADM announced that she had finished her second solo album which would go hand in hand with a graphic novel and a concept film, the release dates of which are unclear. The album will be released under the name of MAdM, whereas the comic and film will go by Out of Our Minds, or OOOM for short. You can view the ‘new’ website: xMAdMx.com. Along with the song on the new website, there was also the poster updated (pictured left) telling fans there will be a ’sneak peak’ of her new project on Saturday 1st of November. At this stage, November is looking like it will be a busy time for us Smashing Pumpkins fans. www.ozphoria.com/?p=317

I like the artwork direction with this release! MAdM certainly does have a strong idea of how she wants to market herself and her music. I particularly find it interesting that it has a very dark and intense feel - a lot like the promo and marketing of the Machina era.
Perhaps Melissa was a tad inspired by her time with SP during the Machina tour?

Just got an email from her - you can download the title track for free from the website.
Here's the email "
Fellow Hunters & Healers,
I finally offer you Music. OUT OF OUR MINDS, the title track of my new album, is yours for free here:
GET OOOM NOW!
Once you come in, you could be one of the Lucky 3 who will win the first OOOM Package, involving very limited edition things made of sounds and visuals just by making a tweet.
You will also learn about the upcoming OOOM World Wide Web Music Video Premiere FOR you, by YOU.
It's simple, I want to invite you into a world, and the 21st Century allows me to start "HERE" with you all virtually, regardless of where you are Geographically. During the past few years of the Web spreading phenomenon, I've come to realize just how far my tentacles have reached out during these last 15 years of Music Making. In fact if you weren't all so spread out, I wouldn't try to learn the blog-twit-my-face thing, but I need to connect, so you are my technical 2.0 inspiration. Far and Wide You are, my fellow listeners. I am so proud to tell my family and friends how international the ears and hearts connected to this project are! It proves the UNITING force of music, which is what got me started on this path to begin with (remember the 3-D sound and Pyramid?!) You are also diverse in age and interests. Some of you were too small to see my baby cheeks play live in HOLE during the Lollapalooza-era, while some others of you were rocking at a Led Zeppelin show before I was born. Thank you for joining forces here with me.
You are as UNIVERSAL as the message of OOOM. Travel Out Of Our Minds, Into Our Hearts Standing...
Thank you for Listening... and please COME IN.
