Lame! I love ECSR, but at BDO time, they shouldn't be the band i'm excited about in the first announcement, hehe You Am I and The Raconteurs for the second dig

I think the main issue is there really isnt many international acts, even counting the small ones theres what 8? i know theres still second announcement but i just looked at 2007 lineup which i thought was pretty poor apart from tool and muse, 21 internationals.
Having said that and acknowledging the overall lameness of the lineup, of the internationals there are still at least 4 im interested in, hich is a good start i guess, heres hoping the raconteurs are in too though

Yep, I shall be, Neil Young TV on the Radio and My Morning Jacket is enough to warrant my presence. Actually just Neil Young would be enough to warrant my presence.

I'll be heading to Neil Young and MMJ at the sideshow, so it looks like no BDO for me...

Yep, which is a little odd. I went to see the Sonic Youth Daydream Nation thing and I was a little disappointed, I think knowiong exactly what's going to be played takes something away from the live experiences, and I'd also really like to see Fantomas do some stuff from Delerium Cordia but never the less shall be good to see them, hopefully they dont put them on last on green stage at the same time as neil and make me miss at least the first half, which will more than likely be the case :s

Oh it was good, it just didnt have the force that it should have being such a grand thing, they just played through the songs. I think part of the excitement of seeing a band live is that each shop has its own energy, bands resonate with the crowd and whatnot. If they'd changed the songs it would have been great, but they didn't, they just played them verbatim, without any urgency or vitality, which is sad from a band who still are totally cutting edge. The encore was easily the best part of the show, because they were excited about playing the newer songs and noone knew what to expect, but during the main set everyone was just zombified waiting for eliminator jr or whatever they were holding out for and maybe consequently the band didnt seem to be enjoying themselves that much either... well, kim never looks happy, she may have actually been more into it than anyone else though, thurston looked uninterested mostly.

This is part of the reason I didn't want to go. Sonic Youth live has always been an amazing experience. The Sonic Nurse tour was just fucking mind blowing. I think the idea behind playing the full albums is excitng but I fear like yourself that it may not provide that excitement of a more "traditional" live gig. Still, I'm sure it would have it's fair share of awesome moments.
