I think it is great how the ATP festival is curated. For me this gives you a better chance of seeing bands that normal festivals may not book.
I hope that we see more ATP festivals happen here in Australia. Judging from the ones that have happened overseas, I think it could be the most positive thing to happen to the Australian festival scene in years.

i'm all for bringing out abnds that wouldnt be able to come out themselves without a festival.. but 200 bucks (plus accomodation) is a lot of money for mainly small bands. You pay that money in germany and you get awesome 3 day festivals (including camping). In the uk... well.. you'll pay a bit more

Yep, so wish this was coming to adelaide, no way ill be able to travel. Guess the bad seeds will still tour, but its just great that atp is here finally, even if we dont have the amount of bands just on hand to be part of it, still awesome... whats up with the saints not playing brisbane though??

Who is curating this anyways? I thought that tickets include accommodation? Isn't ATP meant to be like a band camp, thats what makes it so special?

This sounds like a really special event, I had never heard of it until this thread. Just read up on it all, sound fantastic ... yay for being in Perth.
