Was there something that you could have purchased but didn't? A gig that you skipped but shouldn't have? What is your biggest SP related regret?
Mine, I was a young chap, about 15-16, with only one thing on my mind. I was in Sanity about 2 metres away from this loverly display of Aeroplane Flies High boxsets. Down to my last $50 I spent it on taking my then GF to the movies instead of purchasing the boxset. The next week they had run out everywhere and I still to this day have never got my hands on one. It is on my ebay list but I have never seen one in good enough condition to purchase. Why-oh-why do people write their name on the fucking label!!!!!
Anyway, what is your biggest SP related regret?

Not going to the "final" show at the Metro.
Back in the day, a friend of mine from Sydney was working at the Metro merch stand (she'd moved to Chicago to be with her internet boyfriend) and told me and my then boyf that if we could get to Chicago, she'd have 2 tickets to the show waiting for us, and we could stay at her place. Sadly I was unemployed and couldn't get my shit together, so I missed out.
She ended up taking the two tickets out to the crowd out the front of the Metro and gave them away. She did, however, send me a tshirt from the merch stand at that show, and a pick but sadly I've since lost both.

For me it wasn't pestering my parents enough to let me go to the 1996 Perth show. At the time I was 13 (turning 14) and I begged my parents to let me go, but of course the answer was "you're too young". That was my last chance to see the band in its original line up, so I sometimes put that down to a regret.
But then over the years I've seen this as a positive too. That era of the band is firmly in my head as this magical time, locked away without anything that can change my opinion of it. What happens if the show was shit? and I was turned off the band and never got into them after that .... my life would be completely different.
Besides that I don't have many SP regrets I guess ... there have been many ebay purchasing that I wish I had spent more money on to get them ... but I know I'll find another one another day.

Not being up the front for the gig this year.
I sat up the back with my wife. I really regret not being closer to the band to see one of my music heros up close.
Ah well, I enjoyed the gig anyway!

I don't really have any SP regrets but after getting home from my SP Australian tour and seeing them 6 times i really wish i went to the 2 V Festivals i missed out on and the NZ shows!! But my biggest regret was a "BC" moment when i didn't go to the Marquee Club in Sydney!! Still kicking my self

Mine would be the marquee show and not catching up with the ozphorians after the melbourne TFE show when they met billy, I was gutted after the moronic minority of the crowd ruined the end of the show.

i guess not getting into the band until 2000, not that it would have made a huge amount of difference because if i'd liked them back in 1998 i would have been too young to go to their tour anyway.
also not waiting around after Billy's TFE Melbourne show. i didn't give it another thought at the time because i didn't really try to meet bands back then, but after joining here and finding out that heaps of people met him i've been kicking myself since!
and technically not SP, but i REALLY regret not knowing about/going to the APC signing in 2004.

I dont think I have any SP regrets, I suppose not seeing them at the Big Day Out in 1994? but I was 13 in January that year and didnt know who they were until 1994, plus I got to see them in 1996 and that show was amazing so I feel pretty lucky to have seen them in the best era of the band (to me anyway)
Maybe my biggest regret is not saying much to Billy when I met him, I was pretty humble really, just said hi, thanks, and got him to sign siamese dream.......I spoke with Jimmy alot more when I met him in NZ and Aussie this year and he was cool.

Yeah that book is great, as is the Adore tab book and the SD tab book. Did I mention that I own all 3? Now that is rubbing it in.

Yeah gotta love the MCIS tab book. ;-)
My biggest regret is not seeing the Pumpkins in Melbourne on the MCIS tour. A friend from work did and doesn't hesitate to remind me how it was the best concert they've ever been to. Although I was probably too young (13) i should have pushed the folks to go (like you Sunky). Then when I was 16, I was overseas with school and the trip co-incided with the Adore shows. Freaking nail in the coffin that was.
I always joke and say that my life can never be complete because I never saw the MCIS show, but deep down there's a little bit of truth in there.....pathetic maybe, who knows. Thank god they got back together and I saw them this year.....

yeah i regret not seeing the mcis tour, but was only 12. i remember one time, obviously not long after the '96 melb show, i was wearing my long-sleeve zero shirt and someone asked me, 'did you see the pumpkins show?' - i wasn't even aware they were touring. but yeah, wouldnt have had any means of going. one thing i have definitely regretted was not overcoming my nerves to say 'hi' to billy in '98. he was coming out of the metro on bourke st flanked by a security guard and yelana i believe. it was so surreal seeing him up close and personal - i just froze. plus, no one else seemed to notice. i was regretting not approaching him from the moment he began to fade into the distance. but then again if he'd fobbed me off or anything at the time, it would have destroyed me - coz i saw him as so much more than just a man back then.

not following the band around oz this year, and only going to the melbourne shows. instead the cash was spent on going to europe and following radiohead around that continent, i'm not even an obsessed fan of radiohead, WHAT WAS I THINKING!
i'm going to go cut myself and burn my copy of in rainbows.
