Wanted to make a special post about this, I know Bree and Kerrie are really the only other Manic Street Preacher's fans here (that I know of) ... but yesterday an important day occurred. After 13 years, Richey James Edwards, was finally announced as deceased.
Who is Richey?
Edwards with 4 Real carved into his arm.

I kind of feel sad tonight, I never thought I would feel this way to be honest. Richey dissapeared 13 years ago, I've had a while to come to terms with it ... but its sad that its final now. Richey was really underated in the band and how the Manics worked in those was different to most bands out there. Even though James Dean Bradfield was the singer and main songwriter, Richey wrote the lyrics. They were such punks, angry, didn't fit with the whole Brit Pop sound of the time. Very much like the Pumpkins and grunge. They were there around the same time, but they didn't play nice with the other bands.
So, a sad night/day ... whatever ... but yeah, I hope everybody gives the Manics a shot. On a final note I found this bit of information to be really sweet:
"Since his disappearance, the band have continued to put 25% of all royalties earned into an account in Richey's name."
I now leave you with Faster, from The Holy Bible. Some of Richey's best lyrics.
"The title "Faster" can both be interpreted as one who abstains from eating (a personal issue of lyricist Richey James Edwards) or in regards to quick speed. The spoken word introduction ("I hate purity...") is taken from the film version of George Orwell's 1984. The lyric "if you stand up like a nail then you will be knocked down" is a Chinese proverb, referring to the probable results of differing from common consensus opinion or standards, as happened to 1984 protagonist Winston Smith."
