damn you Ozphoria lol, all this talk and the insane cheap prices of Placebo cds at JB's have made me realise I need to finally get into this band.
I heard some stuff from "Without You I'm Nothing" and yeah, it blew my mind, it may have been the title track, so yeah another collection of albums will be brought courtesy of the ozphorians.

Im not that inspired by it, its not bad, its just not revolutionary, it sounds the same as their old stuff just in a slightly different wrapping. The riff is very XYU meets QOTSA meets "i want you (she's so heavy)

i would guess we'd get it june 6, as our release day is saturday. i'm hoping to catch morrissey and placebo in the summer. morrissey more so. well, i will be seeing palcebo at novarock (if they dont clash with anyone), but i'm hoping to see manson and placebo july 1 in norway. edit: maybe not manson and placebo, that 175 bucks stupid norway beign so expensive

(you won't regret it) Trust me, this pay day, it will be done. Just a question about the band, I mean I know how they sound from the brief exposure I've had, but lately all I've been listening too has been The Cure, NIN and Marilyn Manson. Will Placebo fit that mood? I keep having this feeling that they will, you know on a more indie / pop kind of level.

I'm pretty confident too. "Mechanical Animals" and "Eat Me, Drink Me" by Manson have been the soundtrack to my last few days so yeah, from what I've heard of Placebo I'm guessing they'll somehow give me that same level of feeling. Give me a week and I'll get back to you on how I feel about Placebo.

It came as a surprise to me because I didn't realise he was a fan, and yeah, wow, it really rocked my world. So definately on my to buy list. Anyways, Placebo... perhaps they might hit our shores for splendour in the grass. Seems like a valid prediction seeing as they'd go straight to Japan after doing some shows here.

and they've been to splendour before, so i reckon it's pretty likely for them to come down.

from their mailing list:
"There’s been a bit of speculation about what the first single from the new album will be…so read on…
The first official single will be “For What It’s Worth”, released on June 1st. It’ll be getting its first worldwide radio plays on Monday 20th April (check your local radio stations!), with the UK giving its first exclusive spin on Radio 1’s Zane Lowe show from 7.00pm.
To add to this the band decided to make the single track of ‘For What It’s Worth’ available to download the following morning, on Tuesday 21st April, through as many iTunes stores as possible. (So far it will be available through iTunes in the UK, France, Belgium, Ireland, Italy & Netherlands…)
The single will be available on 7”, CD and Digital Download, featuring a cover of Nick Kershaw’s classic, “Wouldn’t It Be Good” as the B-side.
Finally, watch out for the online exclusive of the new video for ‘For What It’s Worth’ which will be up on Myspace homepage from Tuesday morning as well!
It’s all going on…"
Bye for now Placebo
notice they don't mention itunes Australia.... i hope we can get it here
