So I was listening to Scorpions and heard the start of Dark Lady and the first 20 seconds kind of ... sounds like ... Tarantula.
So with the also apparent similar sound with Cherub Rock sounding like Cheap Trick's - Oo La La La ... in parts. Any other songs that spring to mind, where the Pumpkins have "borrowed" or shown the influences in an obvious manner?
I don't think you can call these "rip offs" especially when a band like the Smashing Pumpkins have always made mention of their influences and even with Tarantula Billy said he wanted to write a Scorpions song.
So yeah, any others?

Japanese psychedelic band called "The Flower Travellin' Band" there song Hiroshima I think just HAD to be an influence on US, but then again maybe Billy has never heard of them but you can hear alot of the pumpkins in this song. www.sendspace.com/file/sl6xdk - This song is not the song in the video by the way...it's a different one, much longer, there are plenty of "pumpkinesque" moments...

The middle of 99 Floors sounds like the chorus of Shine by Collective Soul.

The screech-y guitar tuning bit at the beginning of The Beautiful People sounds like the beginning of Starla. That Brian Warner's such a plagiarist.
