I would hope, considering that they're one of the headliners, that it would be a full blown show, and Billy wouldnt have the audacity to put himself that highly on the bill if he werent going to play stuff that people will respond to, but we'll see. This tour has been dubbed "The Billy Corgan Fun Time Variety Hour" by me and my friends.
I assume they'll be touring with Jeff, Mike and Mark on bass? Is there any word on this?

That seems to be the general idea, just a keyboardist is needed I guess ... you would hope it would be a female just purely for the vocal combo with Billy.
I know Mark is a temp bassist for the show they are playing in April.
If they are a headliner, especially at a festival they would expect a hit parade show ... if Billy doesn't deliver that people will walk away for good I think. 2-3 new TBK songs, the rest would have to be Gish - Machina hits I think ... as sad as it is to say. Give the people what they want, regain their trust.

Thanks Michael.
It isn't that bad, I don't mind it ... although a bit repetitive.
Also who is releasing these songs. The MP3 has NO artwork, the album title was wrong too ... fucking joke sometimes. It is simple shit.

Gishy, psychedelic. But I'm not sure if I like it. Hrm.
Also, I kept waiting for BC to say at the end... "this take... don't give a fuck". The end of this is very much like the end of Silverfuck.
Also, it kind of looked like this was ripped from a CD by the Amoeba people? Hence the wacky ID3?

Yeah it seemed to be ripped from somewhere else. The MP3 was different to the other tracks, the ID tags, no artwork ... surely SP.com could get this stuff organised. It really confuses me, the simple things.
What does everybody think of Mike's drumming on this?

OK thats it, I cant take it anymore. Each song release just leaves me dissapointed. I never thought the day would come when I wouldnt class the pumpkins as my favourite band but there is no way I can say that with this new music. Long live the old SP for me.

Did anyone else try and order the Limited Release 7" yesterday? Apparently they sold out that night, but I am hoping I got my order through in time - I think it was placed around 6:15pm Chicago time!

"Stich in time" is still my favorite That seems to be the overall opinion on Blamonet. I don't get it though. ASiT is probably my least favoured track of the four newies, mainly because of how the lines are delivered. I like SFaS & WWMM & the music for AP (vocals not so much). No classics in these though, but I can't wait to hear Tom Tom which may be for me.

I think the positive thing is there is a range of what people like and don't like. I totally love Stitch in Time, reminds me of a faster pre-Gish version of Jennifer Ever ... where WWMM just reminds me of a watered down version of Zwan's - Baby! Let's Rock. Anyhoo, I'm really excited about the eventual release of Tom Tom, this is Tom Tom for those that haven't heard it yet: Don't screw it up in the studio Billy!

Well ... they played Leno. I love this band, I'll defend Billy ... but getting Linda's family as a choir was a mistake. If I had to describe this performance I'd say ... AWKWARD. It also doesn't help that I hate this song. Anyhoo.

Best mix I've heard of Mikey Byrne since the cymbals aren't horrendously loud. Still looks like the downs kid. Drumming still nothing special.
Holy hell, how big is James Schroeder's pedalboard? And that's just a switching system I think, not his actual rig. Dwarfs BC's by 200% at least.
Randall cabinet on his side, custom looking cabinet on BC's side... Tulin using an Ampeg fridge.
Choir sounds weird - like the guys are too loud and girls not loud enough.
Strawtits on organs. Is this the first time she's been more or less one of "The Smashing Pumpkins" onstage and not just a special guest?

I think it was the first time she has been classed as a member of the band ... but does a one off performance count as part of the live line up? She didn't play on Saturday.

Do you count Mark as a Pumpkin for life now too?
Do you see Kenny Aronoff as a Pumpkin? Is Kerry a Pumpkin? Matt Walker? That dude that played cello on the '94 Siamese Dream tour for a few songs a night?
Linda is part of Billy's "go to posse" ... but it would take a lot for me to count her as a Pumpkin one day.

I like it a bit more live, sounds more grittier... feels like more of a song. Great sounding drum mix, those snare rolls are nice and clean! Not sure what's up with the choir, can't really hear them and they look pretty out of place. Still weird seeing Billy backed up by Mike, he just looks so god damn young... and kind of stiff? He sounds the part, just doesn't quite look it yet...

Now I know why Billy picked Mike to play the drums. Call me crazy, but I listened to the performance without watching it, and he sounded bloody close to Jimmy - can't believe it. Those snare rolls were insane.

It's good to be able to hear Mike play. I don't understand why people always bag him. One of the choir guys is way out of tune at 3.56 and 4.06 he sounds like a bleating goat. The whole choir on stage is awkward but back up vocals on this song are a good idea. I heard Jeffs last name is now Shredder not Schroeder.

I think that is reference to how Billy introduced him on the last full tour ... Jeff 'The Shredder' Schroeder.

It is a BIG question, that is I think down to the individual on "what makes a Pumpkin a Pumpkin?"
I see all those people being part of the "Pumpkin family" but at this stage for me ... Billy, James, D'Arcy and Jimmy are and will always be the main Pumpkins ... to me.
If Jeff, Mike and the eventual new bass player are around in 4-5 years still and have shaped the direction of the band then my view may change. Does that make sense?

It does, I'm just saying... there's first tier and second tier pumpkins, and she's at least on that second tier with jeff, mike, etc.
