I started this because it's quiet, and we have been bitching a lot about the music from a man who has brought us some amazing stuff over the last 20 years and continues to do so. I want to hear some positive stuff. We aren't netphoria we are friendly ozphoria. A) What song comes on? Spaceboy B) What memory does it bring you? Hanging out at my ex girlfriends place when I was 14/15. I had the song stuck in my head, and at the time I kept quoting smashing pumpkins lyrics at her, because in my head everyone loved the pumpkins. She thought I was a wierdo and dumped me shortly after It also just reminds me of that time in my life in general, where I had moved on from melon collie and judas 0 and discovered siamese dream. I listened to that on repeat a lot C) What were you feeling at the time of the memory? Happy and sad, at different points, still finding myself. Although I'm 26 now and still doing that lol D) What were you doing? as above. By the way mellon collie and the infinite sadness just came on. What is it about that song that just makes you go and turn it up just a bit E) What is one of your favourite pumpkins moments and why? I have many, but for some reason the blue eye shadow that james is wearing in the perfect video in the basement always sticks in my head. I think it is why I have come to love blue so much.

A) Rocket B) Using MSN Messenger when at boarding school, year 10, talking to Janey and Sarah about the Smashing Pumpkins thinking I'd discovered the only two other people in the world who knew about them. That and finding out about Ozphoria (omg Australian fans) through the O-Board and bootlegging. Oh, and also, reading about Sunky hearing about the Pumpkins breakup on the radio when he was driving and how he pulled the car over and cried; that's the kind of guy I could stand beside. C) What a ridiculously awkward time in someones life. I remember feeling gangly and alone, ugly and silly, and secretly the only person in the world who understood music and feelings the way it was supposed to. D) I was in boarding school, trying to avoid any kind of social activity thinking of it as some kind of meaningful protest (nobody nowhere understands anything...about me etc!) E) Lying in bed at boarding school thinking that I truly got 'it', understanding everything important.
Was difficult to write that. It was hard to remember how it really felt, I'm 25 now and all of those feelings seem like indulgences that only come out (at night!) when drunk or when a passenger in a car watching the world blur by. I turned the lights down, pressed shuffle, thanks AlmostOz.
Now Playing "Believe" oooh ooohh and ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... haha

"Sunky hearing about the Pumpkins breakup on the radio when he was driving and how he pulled the car over and cried"
I did exactly the same thing. Funny to learn I wasn't the only one. I wish more people would reply!
Speaking of a song that brings me a memory, minah loy came on my ipod as I was driving home today. I went to press next as I always do, but hesitated, and instead cranked it up loud. It has some great beats up loud. It reminds me of that epic billy concert in brisbane in 05. Even though I didn't appreciate the music at the time, that has to be one of the theatrically best shows Ive been to, with that screen behind them and the white floor.
