Anyone know? I saw a Seymour Duncun ad and they listed Pumpkins as one of their users, so anyone know what type? Thanks all. And I am just trying out this avatar: madness.

Depending on the guitar, in his LP Special (used on songs such as I of the Mourning, Heavy Metal Machine) I am pretty sure that they are P90's.
As far as in his ES-335, i'm positive that they are the standard pickup that comes in the guitar (unsure of the name though).
And when it came to strats on Gish, Siamese Dream and MCIS, he used the red (bridge), silver (middle) and blue (neck) combination of Fender Lace Sensor Pickups.
Hope this helps in some way.

Do you know exactly what P-90's he uses? There is only one kind to my knowledge. The P-90 is Gibson's version of a single coil pickup, as opposed to a humbucker. The only differentiation of the P-90's I think would be that one in a 57 guitar (original) sound different to a new P-90 in a brand new Gibson. Its just a model number for their own kind of single coil, to rival that of a traditional Fender single coil sound. So I guess the best answer would be the P-90's in the LP Special that he has are just the stock pickups for that guitar. He only really changed pickups in his Fenders (stock single coil replaced with RSB Lace Sensors) to the best of my knowledge. Hope this helps Nathan.

well theres this other guy called James, hes was in the band too. He uses seymour duncan pickups in his fender telecasters which were used often in the adore tour, that would be where your smashing pumpkins reference on the ad is from. I get really pissy (as im developing a real dislike for billy) when people see smashing pumpkins and automatically think billy corgan only. anyhow theres a list of the pumpkins equipment on www.spfc.org/band/equipment.htmlwww.spfc.org is the place to get all your pumpkins info from.

I know the James, just not as much info, and you know the singer gets all the attention... spfc equipment forum didn't have anything on pickups other than the Lace Sensors. Good day.

The SPFC.org site still has some great info. He's most famous for using lace sensors. I put some in my strat too. I think they're the best. Noiseless, with a a cutting single coil tone!

I know, I have them now! I have a red one on the bridge. A blue one in the middle and a staggered red on on the neck position. Do you have one of the gold or silver resistance ones?

I went a bit different lol. I installed a set of JB Jr humbuckers in my strat (a humbucker squashed into a single) fair bit different to a lace sensor pickup. Mr Iha also used a craaaazzzzy Gibson SG with Triple Humbuckers...such a cool guitar. Used it back in the Siamese Dream days.

I've played the Epiphone version of it. Dave Grohl used them during the early tours for Foo Fighters, and a lil' bit on The Color and the Shape.

i've been waiting for the right guitar to come along for my next axe, and im fucking stuck on those gibson sg custom reissues ala iha sd era and some of my other fav guitarists... i want one so i can have 2 humbuckers and a p90 in the middle, fucking dreamy... super expensive tho, probably going to settle on getting a jap strat and doing the corgan lace sensor thing.
