Western Union money order from the post office..........though I think it can only be made out in US dollars and there is an additional fee of around $8.

The cheque cost $8, so you pay australian money for how much international money you want, at the current conversion, and they charge you $8 for the cheque that it is made out on. The person gets the cheque in thier currency, and can bank it with no charge. It has nothing to do with postage and handling.

Find out what currency they want, probably UK dollar? just ask them which it is. Then go to the post office, and say you want to make out a Western union money order to (insert name) for the amount of $$$$ uk dollars. They will tell you what the currency conversion is, ask you for the aussie money to cover it, and charge you 8 bucks for the cheque. Then you have to pay for the envelope and airmail postage for a letter, they will let you know what to do. Shouldn't cost more than $2 for the envelope + postage, so your looking at 10 bucks total to get them the money. Hope that helped.
