members of The Specials + members of the (English) Beat. i really don't know much about them but both were huge influences on No Doubt so i'm looking forward to checking them out. same with Madness, i don't actually listen to them much but have been wanting to check them out for ages since they were big influences on the band, so them touring is a good excuse for me to finally check them out.

It is damn good, especially that bizarro sufjan song and the decemberists. Got a fair bit of enjoyment out of Sitek doing his thing on 'With A Girl like You' too.

people keep telling me to check out Bon Iver because i'm really into acoustic based stuff - anyone want to recommend and album i should start with? as mentioned, above "For Emma, Forever Ago" and also get the new ep "Blood Bank." Both simply amazing. To my ears it's like a better "Iron and Wine." Beautiful stuff. "For Emma, Forever Ago" hits me on an incredible level. A record made not because a man had a niche market in mind. This is the sound of honesty and raw emotions in all there glory, coming alive to produce a cohesive piece of work that never dwells on the hurt but also does its best to burst a glimpse of just how lonely life can be when you’ve lost a person you love, no matter what level of loss we’re talking about. Pain has never sounded so beautiful. I’m not going to cheapen Bon Iver’s work with more clichés and standard record review trickery, instead I’m simply going to request that if your heart has been broken and faded through the years, that Bon Iver may give you the chance to once again feel that hope can exist after the pain and that sometimes our memories are the only monuments of time that we can truly see. That was a bit of a wank but lol I felt like writing that. U2 - No Line On The Horizon Pearl Jam - No Code
