BRMC are playing at the Metropolis on Jan 6th after doing WA Southbound
I'm seriously considering flying over for it, and doing a week in WA for a holiday.

Well, Steve you know you'd have some tour guides and drinking buddies here!
It's always good when bands do those one-off side shows.

YAY STEVE!!! DOO IT! Also: JEBS ARE BACK!!!!! We have tix to one show, a friend of ours is doing the whole tour (minus a few gigs up north). Im so excited about them being back together, I love this band soooo much. I grew up seeing them play practically every weekend seen them about 50 billion times and always have fun. Press Release: Ladies and Gentleman of the press and the general public, hello and welcome to a press release that it gives us great pleasure indeed to write. After a 26 month open ended hiatus where the band members had lives, careers, a rest from the incredible racket in their rehearsal room and a variety of other musical projects, the 8 legged rock and pop band Jebediah have dusted off the guitars, hit the rehearsal room and are pleased to announce they will be hitting the stage once more. It’s been a matter of conjecture we know, but people can stop asking “that” question now as Jebediah are about to answer it in the only language a rock band should speak! Chris, Brett, Kevin and Vanessa have been working away in the rehearsal room on album number 5, and are gearing up for a run of regional WA dates as well as limited metro shows. These are Jebediah’s first gigs since August 2005 so there will be a fair bit of pent up energy to expend for both the Jebs and their loyal fanbase. Expect a lot more activity from Jebediah in the next 6 months, with plans for national tours (yes, there will be shows outside WA) album releases and all the fun things that go with being a living, breathing rock and roll band again. In the meantime it gives us great pleasure to announce Jebediah’s Back In The Saddle tour of WA. JEBEDIAH ‘BACK IN THE SADDLE TOUR’ with special guests Presented by WAFM and RedFM (excluding Rollercoaster) Wednesday November 21 – Breakers, Geraldton Thursday November 22 – Motor Hotel, Kalbarri Friday November 23 – Sandhurst Tavern, Carnarvon Sunday November 25 – Roebuck Bay Hotel, Broome Tuesday November 27 – Newman Venue Nightclub, Newman Thursday November 29 – Kalgoorlie Hotel, Kalgoorlie Friday November 30 – The Esperance, Esperance Saturday December 1 – Nsomniax, Albany Thursday December 6 – Settlers Tavern, Margaret River Saturday December 8 – Crown Hotel, Collie Sunday December 9 – Newport, Fremantle Tickets available from the venues and usual outlets Saturday 29 December – Rollercoaster 07, Mandurah Hall Park, Western Mandurah Foreshore Tickets on sale from www.heatseeker.com.au ; Live Clothing Stores, Star Surf Shop (Perth and Mandurah), Mills Records, Planet Video, Beat Music, Prince of Wales Hotel, The Dunsborough Tavern and Blue 62 Monday 31 December (New Years Eve) - Amplifier, Perth

yeah Yesterday When I was Brave, October, Country Holiday Song, NDC, Fall Down, Richochet ... the whole album is great. Braxton Hicks was a great record too, was just hard for them to do all the promo themselves through Redline Records. Rumor has it the record will be through EMI, since Bob Evans has gone through them and they have even re-released his first record now. So excited that we got to see the last Bob Evans performance for a while now at Crowded House. Also our friend that I mentioned, he will be doing a tour blog through Faster Louder, so we'll be up to date on all the happenings ... Bree and I are going to the Freo show ... that could end up like other Jebs gigs we've been to, getting drunk with band. Am I complaining? no!

Led Zeppelin To Tour 2008 With The Cult? It could be possible that Ian Astbury, lead singer of The Cult, spilled the beans on the biggest secret in rock during a club show in Cincinnati?.
"We'll be back next year," a breathless Astbury said midway through the band's gig at Bogart's nightclub Saturday night. "Because we're opening for a band you may have heard of ... the name starts with an 'L' and has a 'Z' in it."
Stunned looks bounced around the room until one sweat-drenched superfan shouted out the obvious: "LED ZEPPELIN!" Astbury, his eyes hidden behind dark shades, nodded affirmatively and stuck his hand in the air triumphantly.
When asked about Astbury's seeming confirmation of the world tour, spokespeople for The Cult and Led Zeppelin both declined to comment.

My favourite post rock band are touring. EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY are embarking on their first Australian Tour after recently finishing a tour leg with THE SMASHING PUMPKINS (heard of them?). Doing Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, i strongly recommend you check them out if you get the chance. Tickets are roughly 40 bucks. They are like Mogwai only better, i use this analogy when comparing the two: Explosions in the Sky write instrumentals, Mogwai write songs without words (minus a few vocals). EITS have long songs that really take you on a journey whereas mogwai use verse/chorus structure without words and are pretty repeatitive. www.explosionsinthesky.com

Oh Foxy so happy for you man! I remember you getting me into them, I haven't listened to them in ages ... I think tomorrows travel to work will be the best time to reacquaint myself with them.

Bit By Bats have broken up They didn't seem to have a huge following, but they started of in SA before heading to Melbourne and i follwed them for pretty much all their career, so i'm a bit shocked, didn't see it coming, especially after their debut LP earlier in the year. So....it was good while it lasted and i'll keep dancing to tunes like All Night, Dance The Dance, The Suburban Ballet and One Six One.

I totally forgot all about this until i saw it today, but there is a new Pearl Jam DVD out for fans - And it's not just a live one, more a behind the scenes look at them going thru Italy on their last world tour, which is great considering all the gig releases they have.
It's only $20 at JB's so i grabbed it, extra bonus was Bowie's reality DVD going for a cool $10!

For what it's worth THE PANICS took home the J award today
Obviously not the most heralded award, but i'm so stoked for them to get up. Cruel Guards is a fantastic album. For the last few weeks i've been telling everyone how The Panics should win it, but they won't win it, and then they do.

i know its late, but yeah i was cheering that the panics won the j award, great record... Would have prefered Institute Polaire to have won the unearthed j award, actually would have prefered anyone else besides the young and the restless to win that.
