Good news, cheers Bec.
Really liked the last one and they put on a fun show last year!
It's called "Off with their heads" for anyone who can't/won't check!

i know, they're so fun live! i hope they do a couple of promo shows here like last time, because the smaller show i went to (at the Prince Bandroom) was so much more fun than the one at Festival Hall.

Nice work Bec! I'm not overly excited by the lineups i must say, but Falls always space out the big names between announcements. Might go again, we will see what the second lot bring...

Yeah I heard it yesterday, nice and catchy I like how the band leaked the single, but they've put a 'vinyl' hiss over the top of the track as a way to stop people just downloading it and not buying the song when it comes out.

The Cure released a further 2 songs, last week making it 8 new songs since starting the release for the new album Two new songs - Perfect Boy / Without You ... 2 of the best so far I think.

Gwen had her second baby, a son. Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale, hahaha. apparently Zuma is Arabic for peace (and is also a beach in Malibu), and Nesta was Bob Marley's middle name. pretty crazy, but i think having Rock in the name is pretty awesome.

i heard zuma was from the neil young album of the same name. but seriously, what is with famous people giving their kids fucked up stupid names?

as far as i know neither Gwen or Gavin are Neil Young fans, but i think there'd probably be a special/sentimental meaning behind the name either way. it is pretty fucking weird though, at least Kingston's names flow together (Kingston James McGregor Rossdale), this one is more like a bunch of random words thrown together. i like that he was born on the six year anniversary of when ND were last here though, at least i won't forgot the date ;D

Every single one of the Stefani/Rossdale offspring's names sounds like it could be a surname.

Oh...
Have a look for Spinnerette's new single Valium Knights - it kicks arse! Spinnerette are half of The Distillers and half of Eleven. ie Brody Dalle and friends.

Anyone following the leadup to the new metallica album? I have been, although, I have banned myself from listening to any samples or singles until I have the physical album in my hand on the 13th of September. My mate said he heard the single and describe it as the old school song structure with the production of load / re-load. I got excited.

meh - every song sounds like Back In Black - which is great in my book! hahaha
Also - hear about the guy who leaked Chinese Democracy on the net and got arrested? He was able to do what its taken Axl 20 years to do - put out a new GNR album! Funny how he was apprehended within 2 hours of leaking it (or somthing...)

wierd how they had on undercover a month or so back that it was all bullshit and just staged to get GnR back in the spotlight. i gues it could still be and they are pushing the whole publicity thing.. but meh. they are a lame band

The single sounds like the front end of unforgiven ii or fade to black or something, with the back end of one... but the end sounds forced. My Apocalypse is batteryesque, with slayeresque vocals.

From The Age:
NEIL Young will headline the national Big Day Out festival in January, and play a show at the Sydney Myer Music Bowl.
The Age believes that Young will headline the Big Day Out at Flemington Racecourse on Monday, January 26, and the Bowl two days later on January 28. Other bands rumoured to be playing the festival are the Arctic Monkeys, the Ting Tings and My Morning Jacket.
It will top off a bumper summer for concerts, with AC/DC likely to play an outdoor show at the Telstra Dome early next year, and metal kings Metallica and pop queen Kylie Minogue set to play arena shows. There is also a strong chance that US festival Coachella and UK's All Tomorrow's Parties will join the crowded festival market in 2009.
It will be Young's first Australian tour since 2003, when he brought his Greendale concept album to life on the Sidney Myer Music Bowl stage. The last time Young's music was heard at the Bowl was when U2's Bono and Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder performed his classic song Rockin' in the Free World at the Make Poverty History concert in 2006.
Canadian-born Young, 62, started out with Californian folk-rock band Buffalo Springfield before teaming up with garage rock band Crazy Horse and then Crosby, Stills & Nash.
Having survived a brain aneurism three years ago, Young is throwing himself into his various projects. This year he has encouraged more than 200 songwriters to send him their protest songs, which he makes available for download on his website. His production company, Shakey Pictures, released the politically charged Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young documentary CSNY - Deja Vu and he has even had a trapdoor spider named after him.
Young has already released one album this year, Chrome Dreams 2, while his long-awaited and oft-delayed box-set archives collection, on state-of-the-art Blu-Ray, is slated for release, as is an abandoned album with Crazy Horse, Toast.
His latest mission has been to find a fuel-efficient way to drive big cars. He has been working with an American mechanic, Jonathan Goodwin, and an Australian scientist, Roger Davies, to develop a "smart", battery-powered car.
Young recently shocked reporters at the Berlin Film Festival when he said he no longer believed music could change the world. "You can't change the world by writing songs. But we could change it with this car," he said.
