i thought you could still get it without the ballot, a girl at my work bought four tix today with the ballot and it was over $1000! i really really want to go but i've pretty much given up. none of my close friends are interested and i wouldn't want to spend 3 days with people i don't know that well, plus no mobile phone coverage rules out meeting up with anyone. damn! Franz and Tegan & Sara side shows here i come

i'm sick of all the festivals too, but that's because i'm not really a festival person. i'd rather shell out $100 for three different sideshows. ARIA nominations are in - www.ariaawards.com.au/winners-nominees-2008.phpyay for The Living End

It would be amazing to see Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds take home the big prize. And it's great to see Eddy Current Supression Ring get a nomination for best Rock album, mighty fine little release it is. New Kings Of Leon has leaked - www.mininova.org/tor/1776824. Haven't listened, haven't heard great things but will give it a shot.

Just thought i should give mention to the passing of Richard Wright (28 July 1943 - 15 September 2008)
At the time of his death, Wright had been working on a new solo album, which was thought to comprise a series of instrumental pieces. Bandmate David Gilmour said: "In my view, all the greatest Pink Floyd moments are the ones where he is in full flow. No-one can replace Richard Wright - he was my musical partner and my friend."
R.I.P.

I said to steve after watching the Tim Rogers interview that I had to laugh at his comment that when he was little he thought rockstars wore capes on stage. Sound like someone we know?

We thought the same thing ... I said "Hmm, I wouldn't say a 'cape' ... but close enough for BC" Jimmy - I only recently got into Pink Floyd, its sad when a part of rock history passes on.

Well, as you can see in TSP folder - The band didn't make the cut for the impossible music festival.

R.I.P. it's sad, they were such an obvious influence on SP. If you watch echoes you can see similarities between live gigs etc. "In the early days of Pink Floyd, Richard added his distinctive melodic style to that of Syd Barrett, and he wrote and sang several songs of his own, including Paintbox (the 'B' Side of Apples and Oranges" apples+oranges anyone?
