Something for you to check out, there is this guy on youtube who makes some movies and sings some good tunes, he’s bored and doesn’t want to drink, so he makes movies. www.youtube.com/profile?user=HORION74This is really cool: I really liked this one: btw – this “guy” is Ryan Adams. So great he just does it coz he's bored

Oh David! (Yes, guys, the man has David Ryan Adams on his Birth Certificate)
That second one reminds me of all the tunes he had on his website - In between albums, he recorded a bunch of crazy raps and dirty rock riffs under the names "The Shit" and "DJ Reggie", funny, funny stuff.
Good find!

yeah its great to have an artist that just has fun making music and doesn't mind videoing himself doing it. Yeah I've got a couple of those albums, i recorded the Werewolph ones - his thrash punk stuff. haha.

I was at a pub all Sunday afternoon (Highway Inn beer garden for you SA folk) and there was an acoustic duo in the corner...pulled out the expected (Wonderwall etc..) but they also gave Oh my sweet carolina a whirl, it was fantastic to hear!
Not sure how the rest of the locals reacted when i stood up and yelled out my approval and gave them a round of applause, well deserved!

and crazier than ever. He dyed his hair blonde again recently. I think hes just starting to get back to semi normal after he broke up with the girl he was with in January and was posting like 6 vids a day on youtube. 2 or 3 albums due sometime later in the year, cardinals 3, the crooner one and i tihnk there was another... the boxset seems to have gone quiet i hope it comes eventually, i want to hear the finished version of suicide handbook

I may be wrong, but didn't Rove have rapper Xibit (sp?) on recently? I wouldn't say he is a mainstream artist... Yeah but Xibit hosts pimp my ride! Which is definitely mainstream MTV. No doubt Rove would have spent a lot of the time talking to hi m about the show. I don't understand when things like this happen. Perhaps it's all the record labels doing?

I've always liked Ryan, I bought Rock and Roll when it came out but never really got inoto much else until now. Literally about a week ago I just got an urge to listent o more Ryan so I found Love is Hell part 2 at the library annd borrowed it. I bought Cold Roses on Saturday.
Yeah, I can't tell you much else except i'm a bit pissed that I missed out on his Easy Tiger tour....only a year late! From everything I am hearing (his music) it seems to me that this guy is a living legend basically. So there are so many songs and albums, I don't even know which songs are off which album but I'm gonna take it one album at a time. All these bootlegs are great!

Yep, the man is certainly a freak. It's quite astonishing how prolific he is and the quality he maintains throughout, not since the 60s have people released so much material, and he has vaults and vaults of unreleased stuff its pretty crazy really. Good to see more people turning onto him, he never seems to get the attention he deserves, one of this generations foremost songwriters for sure.

Aw, Ryan and Mandy Moore broke up. Poor guy just seems to want to be left alone. Here's undercovers take:

Thought we should keep the ryan fanboyism to his own thread rather than invade the general music thread
Ryan gives amazing insight into his hit writing process:

You guys heard the new song? Fix it? www.ryan-adams.com/Its really interesting that the album seems to just be by the Cardinals. I remember Ryan saying that about Easy Tiger he wanted it to be just a Cardinals record and not anything to do with him as a solo artist but the record company didn't want it that way. Can't wait to hear this record

Hmm...Gold?
Personally I would say Gold (album number two) But Heartbreaker would also be good (and logical, being the first one)
Um....i think we may have put some songs together on one of the earlier pages of this thread...will check now
