just out of curiosity, who wants to get married? i mean not to me of course haha, but what are your thoughts on marriage and if u want to do it when is the right time, and how do u know you've found the person you want to marry.
i have always been interested in what people think, and whether or not they even want to be "married" and if they want it done traditionally (the piece of paper, the church etc) or in a different manner.. or at all! ;D
i know i'm getting married....
(but i also know i wont be wearing a white dress thats for sure, lol. )

Not getting married no,
I don't like the legalities and symbolism of ownership envolved, and I never want to be half of one of those mechanical married couples I see so often.
I plan to have a commitment ceremony which will sort of be a created ritual by me and life partner. So far I've got an exchange of promise and everyone at the ceremony gets to define their relationships strengths to give us ideals of what it takes to keep a lasting relationship. Oh and I also have a Venue but I don't want to give it away in case I can't pull it off, because I'll have to build and design the marquis' and it's all about accessability really.

I want to marry Bree (of course i do - then why else would i be with her for over 2 yrs). I talk about it with her at least on a weekly basis ... and she does the same with me. I am an old romantic at heart, i love the idea of proving your love for somebody in front of the people you hold special in your life (this doesn't have to be your whole extended family). Being the way we are - our wedding would be different to the normal style wedding. It going to be small, its going to be different, its going to happen soon ... once we have our own house - expect some news ... hopefully all going to plan we'll have our house early next year. On a side note. A guy I used to work with, him and his partner they went to a Pagen wedding. Everybody (about 40 so people) had to get up and talk about the couple, about how they met the couple and why they have them as friends etc. Also they were given a mood (my friend was given 'Passion') and they had to purchase a gift that related to that mood. I thought this is a wonderful idea ... instead of getting silly toasters, and other crap that you're not going to use ... wouldn't it be better to get everybody involved in a different way. This is something I would like to do when Bree and I get married. ps > nearly all you kids on here would get invited ... if it wasnt for most of you on the old o-board ... we wouldn't be together. pps > bree isn't going to be wearing a white dress either, and i agree with her.

(not til im moved out and set up with my babie boy) so dont expect any wedding bells off me just yet, i just have been talking about it more and more and wanted to know what everyone else thinks *thanks josh!!* ooh and now im all excited about a pumpkin wedding! whee! hurry up and get your house guys!

I have no plans on getting married in any forseeable future....but i do want to eventually.
I find it hard to think of this sort of stuff at my age (19) and being single.....how do the other "younger" members feel about the topic and how it relates to you guys?

I'm not bitter, i just think sometimes it takes longer than most people think to make sure if they've found the perfect match.
I'd rather wait till i'm a lot older to get married and be sure it's gonna last than to get married earlier and maybe end with divorce, or to be married to the not-quite-for-you person.
But yeah a good marriage would be fantastic, so of course i hope to have it as soon as possible. Key word is good though.

fair enough, i agree with what you're saying in a way... but yeah, sometimes it doesn't take as long as you're implying..... just keep that in mind. anyway i hope to have a good marriage too.. no, a fantastic one...and i hope you do one day as well. everyone deserves happiness and love.

well since sunky and I are engaged and have been for the past 3 months, it occurred to me that we should be starting the planning soon.
we already have the venue for the reception picked out (not disclosing this yet), but there's all the other stuff... flowers, rings, cake, cars, guests etc etc etc.
2007 wedding... for obvious reasons.
