well since sunky and I are engaged and have been for the past 3 months, it occurred to me that we should be starting the planning soon. we already have the venue for the reception picked out (not disclosing this yet), but there's all the other stuff... flowers, rings, cake, cars, guests etc etc etc. 2007 wedding... for obvious reasons. have you picked out your wedding song? billy corgan playing the wedding march on guitar?

I want to get married in about 4 years when I'm 28 and feel like a LADY, rather than a GIRL (but maybe that will never happen). My boyfriend and I have been together 4 years now.
I'd probably get married sooner than that, but our friends are all alcos and I'm scared that they'd just abuse the free alcohol and food and ruin the whole day. Isn't that awful that I feel that way about some of my own friends?
By the way, my best friend's cousin got married in Canada and they played: Queen - another one bites the dust. Weirdos!

It's okay not to have a big wedding and you're totally within your rights to neglect to invite your embarassing friends. sunky and I didn't have a bridal party at our wedding and only invited people whom we wanted to share our day with us. If you're worried about the food, opt for a sit-down set meal. Our guests had to pay for spirits and other drinks, but we paid for wine and some beer which kept even the heavier drinks respectable.
On May 27th this year, we'll be celebrating 2 years of marriage - it's gone so fast! In July, we'll be celebrating 6 years together.

Interesting thread.
The cynic in me is against marriage..but the romantic in me would like to get married one day. I just think that person would have to be really really special to wanna make a commitment like that.
I've always imagined something small and natural..maybe at the beach or near water, small group of people and a shitload of candles. Plus some nice music. Hopefully I'll marry someone that likes pumpkins as well. I'm not sure of a white dress. I never wear white, so it would actually be something different.
I really can't seem myself doing the whole limo, church...bridezilla thing. I would rather spend my money on a honeymoon.

^ what SomaGirl said, except substitute 'dress' for 'suit', and 'bridezilla' for 'groomasaurus'.
