good to see untitled and 33 get a rest! i hope they keep trying to mix it up, hopefully they get a bit more daring with the festival setlists as they get bored.

hopefully they get a bit more daring with the festival setlists as they get bored. man you are a hard one please.. was just looking at the 99 sets, and there isnt that much change there either. Picture this as a band with only 30 songs (as thats probably all they have rehearsed) yeah tahts about it..

maybe so, but they are yet to play drown or neverlost at a festival yet, so that would be an easy change to make.
and there are heaps of songs billy could rehearse and quickly pull out solo acoustic if he wanted to / was daring enough. rhino, luna, sweet sweet, bye june, galapagos, stumbleine, perfect, appels + oranjes, ava adore, crestfallen, behold, i of the mourning, try try try, age of innocence, sparrow, slow dawn.
He could be doing a different solo song every night easily, and that would be exciting. at least for every headline side show.

i presumed you wouldnt be including billy solo songs as last time you made a list of the very few songs they played you excluded billy solo songs.. and would adding those 2 song really make you happy?

yeah i didn't include annie dog, crush, daydream, or crying tree cause of that. the billy solo thing is something else.
i haven't said i wasn't happy, my first reply here was about how good it was to see them drop 2 songs from the set so they could mix it up a bit. i like that, i was just saying they could definatley do more of it.
i actually don't like neverlost that much, probably good that they don't play it at festivals.
I like the direction they are going in, it's almost at the point where you really won't know what they will play for half of their set at a festival, and that's great. at the start it wasn't, it was looking like a very similar setlist every night. i just hope they keep up the mixing around they are doing, that's all.

You know what, I think that setlist is a tad predictable, but it is a festival, and not everyone would be there to see them, so fair enough that they're throwing in all the hits to get all the crowd involved. I think when they start doing non-festival shows, especially the residencies, they'll be mixing it up a lot more. If I went and didn't hear anything from Gish, I would be disappointed. I mean, A LOT of people would know I Am One. Saying that, I love how they're including hummer in all the shows, For me it's always been a very underrated song, and still sounds as good as it did 13 years ago !
