We’re actually thinking about trying to do something really interesting, now that we’re out of the label situation. Our idea right now is to do maybe something like…we would, um…if we could find somebody to do it with us, maybe do, like, um…it’s hard to explain, but maybe some sort of like Internet TV show, where, you know, we would film through the week, and maybe even play on a certain day, the songs, and then every week you’d get to see what the new album’s…like, you’d get to watch the new album being created. So it would be like every week. So you would know, like, if you were watching something live, you know, you’d say, “oh, he just wrote that song two days ago,” or something… I think it would be kind of cool, if we could find the right partner. I mean, if we do it on our own, it would be kind of difficult. But I think we could find somebody interested… I think we’re going to try to find a partner. It could be anybody from VH1 to, you know, uh, some of these HD, uh, Internet channels. ... so thoughts? Is this just like The Band in the Bubble? ... is Billy getting to crazy with marketing ideas, rather than just focusing on writing music? www.bandinabubble.com/

I think it sounds amazing. Watching some of the process during the residencies was really interesting, seeing the songs creation and then performance. I would love to see more into the process of how billy works and how the band pull everything together. I always find the demo's exciting to listen to, some are really similar to the final result and other change dramatically, getting to see how things change when the band are already in the studio would be fascinating. Tell BC that Kerrie votes yes And then ask him to hook me up with better internets so that i will be able to watch it! oh and one last point, about your question of getting carried away with marketing etc? I think BC has always been about exposing the process, I mean look at the number of demos and recordings etc that come out surrounding an album. I think he now just has the freedom to do things the way he wants with the level of control he has always wanted to have.

Yeah Kez I wasn't meaning Billy is crazy to do this, I think its a great chance for the band to display a non-bias view point.
I'd love them to have no third party involved, it becomes to commercial and ... well crap. I'd be happy with just a handy cam type show with 5mins of footage each week. Something to keep us up to date, something for us to enjoy.
I haven't heard of the Metillica thing before Brendo, from reading about it it sounds pretty similar.
I just hope this doesn't fizzle out though ... remember the whole SPTV thing before when Zitghost was released. *sigh*

Yeah, its obviously been something BC has been thinking about for a while. Perhaps they will get it together when it comes to the next album, or what ever their release process is going to be.
I would really love to see it eventuate, but I mean with footage like guys (I mean in that sort of situation) you never know what has just been a thought in the head of the b0lly or what has been fleshed out to a level of progress where its probably going to happen.
Anyway I love seeing what bc has to say anyway, so even if nothing comes of it, it gives us more of an insight into his mindset at the moment.

I think you're right about the absence of a third party; this seems to be what stopped thefutureembrace documentary, chicago songs etc. Why do you think Billy would like to team up with a partner like VH1? What are the benefits? Seeing as though of late he is speaking alot about the tyranny of record companies etc I would have thought some sort of DIY approach might work? Having said that though it seems obvious that removing the record company removes the mediation between the artist and in this context, VH1 - which in theory means that Billy will have more control over the 'vision' of the project.
I checked out that Metallica site, seriously though, I hope the pumpkins don't do it this way. I want the beauty back.

i agree - it needs to not be commercial if it does happen... that means done by the band themselves and their people - not by generic big media enterprise or whatever.

Id rather see a bonus DVD at the end of it all ie Zeitgiest silver.
Id much prefer something a bit more cryptic and cluey like NIN are doing/have done with hidden flash drives and scavenger hunts and the like. That was kinda cool - web cams are a little lame. I cant help thinking Billy might come off like that fat bitch on 'the wedge'
