Well i think i've forund our latest potential nerd invasion! The Impossible Music Festival is on Triple J again guys. For those that aren't aware of it, it's a weekend of the station playing nothing but live sets. This year you get to vote for 3 bands. It doesn't tell you which show/era will be available, but i'd guess it will be one from the height of the bands popularity, i could be wrong. So get voting guys, lets get a whole set of Smashing Pumpkins music on radio www.abc.net.au/triplej/livemusic/default.htm

Nice Steve, I'll post and article and spread the word ... I guess for JJJ its either the request fest from 1996 or the 1998 show. EDIT: Just read they are doing stuff from BBC this year too ... awesome! Hopefully we'll get something good then

1. Smashing Pumpkins - One of the greatest live acts of all time, that have played some amazing shows on Triple J and the BBC over the years ... time to share them with Australia!
2. The Cure - I just know there are some hidden gems in the vault, time to dust one of the recording off and play it.
3. Manic Street Preachers - They only came to Australia once, and with a song called Australia ... it would be amazing to hear them on JJJ again.
Woooo Manic Street Preachers (yeah Kez! represent!)

get fucked! No SP ... www.abc.net.au/triplej/livemusic/playlist.htmSorry to sound bitter, but c'mon! there was a shitload of interest and people posting SP ... more than Nirvana ... yet Nirvana get on there. I don't think JJJ love SP anymore ...

yeah I'm sure there was more pumpkins support than some of the other ones out there.
Amy Winehouse, Died Pretty, Hunters and Collecters? this isn't a critique of the musical stylings of these bands, but a question of their popularity. HUNTERS AND FUCKING COLLECTERS. HOW MANY BOGANS LISTEN TO TRIPLE J

Died Pretty is a weird inclusion, i guess theyve had somewhat of a resurgence from playing dont look back, but surprising that many people would have voted for them
