Taken from a Spanish interview, I always thought that Billy and Manson had a massive falling out. www.mansonusa.com/headlines/fullnews.php?id=537Manson Talks About A New Album And PhantasmagoriaPosted by Norsefire on 29 Nov A Spanish paper recently conducted an interview with Manson, below are translated sections which talk of a new album and the status of Manson's film 'Phantasmagoria'. Are you already thinking about making a new album? MM: Yes, I want to begin working on a new album in January or February [2008]. I’ve already written some ideas for songs. After my Greatest Hits album came out I took a long break from music because it was a period where I was not sure who I wanted to be. I left music for a while but that’s not an error I want to repeat in the future. It is rumoured that you could collaborate with Kerry King on that album? MM: I’ve become very good friends with Kerry King recently, I’ve had contact with the Smashing Pumpkins and I have also collaborated with Nick Zinner on a remix so it’s a definite possibility that they might contribute to this recordWhat’s the latest on your directorial debut Phantasmagoria? MM: Currently the production on Phantasmagoria is postponed. We have some great locations, much of the design is finished and I have a distributor. It was meant to have been filmed earlier but EAT ME, DRINK ME became something that was absolutely my first priority. Now the movie will be delayed even more because of the ongoing scriptwriters strike in Hollywood which is affecting all present productions. I’ll try and restart it at the beginning of next year.

Really Kez? Thats fantastic news ... maybe Manson has his head out of his arse now and can start working with everybody from the good old days.
Maybe him and Trent will get back working together.

Always wondered if Billy and Manson were still friends. Manson seemed to treat Billy exactly the same way Courtney did as in they'd say crap about him in the media all the time.

I was always under the impression Billy and Manson were still friends, its excellent news about twiggy, i freaked out when i heard. i know a lot of people will think nothing good will come from it, but im excited. I dont think trent will ever rejoin the frey, i believe the two of them are on ok terms now, but theyve moved in such different directions i dont think it'd ever happen. In other related news, this is the best manson site on the net: www.nachtkabarett.com/Grotesque#Theres some amazing research thats been done to compile it all together, and it looks like they're going to add in a pumkins section of the site, as well as a nin one. It'll be good when they line all the machina stuff up with holy wood.

Also, on another related note. I was flicking over at netphoria and someone had brought up the old mechanical animals thing. I dont know if anyone has more solid knowledge about the exact extent of corgans involvement.
Obviously he is listed as a consultant because contractual obligations with virgin prevented him from working on an interscope album, but as far as i know, id almost bet my house that he sings in the dope show (listen to the 2nd chorus) and at the end of speed of pain coming from the back of the mix out of the center. Im also lead to believe he had a rather large hand in writing great big white world and coma white, but i dont know if this is pure speculation, they certainly sound like corganesque works. I was just interested if anyone knew anything more about this stuff. its always hard to get to the truth when noone can talk about it for fear of legal bullshit

I've only ever known as much as you just posted, but its been something I've always wanted to ask Corgan about ... but would he ever give a straight answer.

I liked emdm much more than i thought i would, its really raw, you can feel what he's singing. i think skold brings a lot to it aswell, i really love putting holes in happiness and the title track and a couple of others are really good, but id never put it in the same realm as antichrist or mechanical animals or even holy wood which i still really love, just not as much as the other 2. golden age i like the concept more than the music (barring a few: new shit, use your fist) but yeah i dont think its as bad as people make out though

Yeah i hope they come back soon, after the new album or whatever. really wish this had happened earlier, but its awesome anyway, the idea of seeing all that old stuff resurrected with a new breathe of life. Great interview with manson about how twiggy came back and a whole heap of other stuff: www.mansonusa.com/everyone_will_suffer_now/

So we all guessed that Billy would be on the record ... turns out its James!!!!! heavymetalmusic.biz/2008/05/23/mariyn-manson-is-definitely-preparing-for-new-album/Shock rock kingpin Marilyn Manson announced on Kerrang! this morning that plans for a seventh album are currently in the woodwork. The singer recently reunited with his former bassist, Jeordie “Twiggy Ramirez” White, this January and has gone on record to say that the new material will be “very ruthless, very heavy and very violent.” Manson also revealed a few surprises regarding the album. Slayer guitarist Kerry King and former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha will have guest spots on the record. Finally, for all those Pumpkins fans out there, there’s some output from the old soul and from what Mr. Manson promises, it should be worth scribbling down in your notebooks.

it seems strange that first it's the 'smashing pumpkins' but now it's james.
It's great that Twiggy is back, but Pogo has now left, and he was the only other member to have been there for so long (not quite the start, but near enough).
I wasn't all that impressed with EMDM, although I liked a couple of tracks, but this new album he's working on has my full attention.

I know we speculated that James would be in the live line up, but seems not. www.ozphoria.com/?p=303Back in May 2008 Ozphoria reported that Marilyn Manson announced James Iha would be appearing on his new record as a guest guitarist. This news also lead to much speculation that James Iha would be joining the live line up of Manson, just like he did with A Perfect Circle a few years ago. However yesterday Undercover.com.au reported that ex Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Bordland has joined the new live line up for Marilyn Manson, therefore putting a (somewhat) end to the rumors of James Iha joining the Manson group. As we all know though, things can change quickly in the circles of Marilyn Manson, so never say never. As for news on James, besides the recent lawsuit against Virgin Records there hasn’t been much to report on besides the follow up to Let It Come Down which has been in production for a number of years now.

That's a shame, could have been a bit of an alternative supergroup.

Sorry, I had mentioned it a while back in this thread, so was just updating what id said earlier. The website's been up for ages, it has some really interesting stuff on the various references and symbolism throughout mansons music and arkwork etc, just in the last year theyve branched out to include stuff relating nin and coil to manson and have been teasing for a while about a pumpkins section. If you've seen the artwork to Holywood then you'll know it uses some of the same imagery as machina, and alchemical symbolism runs throughout mansons work, so this will give some insight into the links between those works as well
