Regrowth is no problem -- it's not like I'm blonde!!! I don't have to dye it very often... my hair would be almost 80% grey naturally underneath it all so the colour holds well! I've had black hair since I was 20.

That's really interesting about the grey hair too...It'd be a really good blank canvas, I'd be doing all sorts of colours, hehehe!

I hear ya on entering contacts, I did it through the phone, to get used the keyboard etc. Let me know if you make a Zeitgeist theme... I'm just using a pretty random graphic I got from sk3themes.com There's a reasonably good hiptop forum at www.hiptop.com (one exclusive for Telstra/Australia) it's full of annoying teenyboppers who can't spell, but some of them have a bit of knowledge.

iPhone availability should be announced at WWDC next month... I'm patient. I need a new phone but I can survive in the interim. I'd rather wait for touch screen/iPod capabilities and the joy of having a phone I can sync with my existing Mac software I saw a girl walking and using her Hiptop yesterday... stupid moron was too busy typing and almost walked into me and three other people! Dude! Wait til you're sitting down or at least stationary.

we went into the telstra shop the other day to ask about Hiptops We have motorola v3's at the moment and the batteries in BOTH are completely shot, i can only make one call a day before mine dies. Anyway our plans are up in august but he said if we go in there on the 1st of June he can order us 2 HipTops and we can start new contracts without having to payout. YAY!! Now we just have to decide if we are going to buy the phone or pay it off....what did you do vic? Do you know how much the repayments were on top of the $30 a month for the contract?

Kerrie - Grant and I paid for our phones outright, as we were paying for both at the same time outright, we got a nice discount ($600 each instead of the $679 rrp). There is no markup on this model handset, so if you'd rather pay the MRO then go for it. (From memory it's $28 p/m for 24 months, or $50 ish p/m for 12 months.)
I preferred to pay outright, rather than worry about the extra little bit each month.
Telstra are actually not allowed to sell the Hiptop3 at the moment, they've pulled all stock so that they can relaunch in a few months time with a huge campaign. (They found even without advertising, they were selling out. I guess they saw the potential for it to go huge with a big campaign.)
I love this phone. The instant messaging and web browsing features are just awesome. I don't make many calls from my mobile, so the $30 plan suits me fine (unlimited sms/mms/web/email/IM). When we got ours the guy said if a new plan is introduced in the future that includes calls as well, we'd be able to change without any affect on our contract etc.

the deal with June 1 is that it is 2 months before the end of our contracts, and from that point on you are able to change handsets and plans without having to payout any money, as long as you are staying with telstra.
well that sucks about it being pulled. the guy said they dont have them in stock at his store because they dont ever sell many, but it is just a couple of days to order them in....i wonder if he can still do that?
And was it a telstra shop that gave you the discount for buying the handsets vic? Did you have to sweet talk them or did they just offer it?

It was through Fone Zone, (a Telstra dealer) we just said "We're buying two outright, what can you do?" and the guy taps his calculater a few times and goes "$1200 for both."
We were pretty rapt.
It's only Telstra shops that sell until after the ads launch, so if you go to a Telstra dealer you'd be able to get one sooner. (If they have any in stock - I had to call around for ages to find ours.)

Umm, had to have the day off today because as I posted in the Work Bunnies thread, our plumbing decided to surprise us with blocked drains this morning.
The plumber rocked up and next thing I know, he's pulling up bricks out the back and there's metal scraping and he's opening up the septic tank! dude wtf!? now there's some sort of pump going and periodic squeaks and machinery...
The landlord is going to have a FIT when she sees the bill, I reckon. I'm relieved that it couldnt be fixed by a mere plunger though --- it was beyond my control and the house is over 15 years old - what can you do?
He's a grumpy bastard too... he rocked up and said 'Hi. What exactly is going on?' like I'm a problem client or something. I can only wonder what the bitches at the Property Managers told him. We've had run-ins with them in the past few months over their inability to use common sense.
blargh. I hope he finishes soon. I need to pee badly...

haha i am home sick today and the plumber had to come out to our house also. Our drains block up all the time, old house, old pipes, lots of trees and roots, and really dry earth have all meant lots of blockages.
he was here for 45 minutes, just wound this tube down two drains and it cost $115. nice.
