I was listening to an interview they did earlier this month talking about when they supported Oasis and how it was hard for them to stick to a 45min opening set. He said they play until they can't play no more. I think with Perth they must of been tired and a little jet lagged, plus it was a hot day and venue's air con was shit house. Plus stupid Perth has a 11.30pm rule for live music in Fremantle on a Sunday. LAME!
Anyway they'll mix it up and keep playing till its over, which I love. You can look at setlists and still be surprised each night.
You guys have fun tonight.

i was shocked when I got Josh's SMS ... was the crowd acting like dickheads? ... was it to hot for the band?
crazy how much fun they had been having over the past few shows I honestly thought this would be "the perfect tour" ... crazy.

i was checking out some 'photo pass' photos from the last ryan adams tour, usually its from the barrier, 3 songs, no flash. This was 2 songs, no flash (no use really), from the BACK of the venue! thats rediculous! it was even darker last tour aswell! crazyness really.

Ok, i'm back home now after the trip. Great to see you guys as always (Josh, Scott, Bec) All i'm putting it down to is sound problems. It was the only thing from opening nite getting on Ryans nerves you could tell, and this time it was just as bad, if not more, always motioning to his ears and looking side of stage, pointing at equipment, shaking his head. There was minimal obvious feedback, but enough to get Ryan down. It had nothing to do with the Crowd, believe me, the two nites were fantastic crowd wise. Some stuff from the show/picked up from archive members: After Off Broadway: Ryan: "I cant fucking hear, that's all. Its not you it's just...I'm sorry I can't hear..." Band member: Sunset right? Ryan: yeah, hey, just say a little prayer for old deaf-ear here Band: *guffaws* oh, hey, c'mon now.......*nervous laughter* It was still a fantastic show up until that point, i was loving Neal's work (This is from someone who has no idea about guitars) and they Jammed more than the first nite. Peaceful Valley and Shakedown were fantastic additions and Dear John just magic(k) - 4 songs in the one night from Jacsonville in 75 off mins...unexpected. Set: On 9.05pm 01. Intro [01:56] 02. When the Stars Go Blue [04:26] 03. A Kiss Before I Go [02:52] 04. Peaceful Valley [07:00] 05. Two [02:37] 06. Fix It [04:39] 07. Wonderwall^ [08:03] 08. Off Broadway [06:01] 09. Let It Ride [04:27] 10. Freeway to the Canyon * [06:04] 11. Games [03:23] 12. Shakedown on 9th Street [03:00] 13. Goodnight Rose [06:59] 14. Dear John [07:09] 15. The Sun Also Sets [05:51] 16. The Rescue Blues [04:39] Off 10.30pm And...i don't know why i do this to myself, but here is the set planned: A Kiss Before I Go Two Please Do Not Let Me Go Fix-It Everybody Knows Wonderwall Off Broadway Let It Ride - Crossed out When The Stars Go Blue Dear John Freeway to the Canyon - Crossed out Games The Sun Also Sets Mockingbird Oh My God Whatever Etc The Rescue Blues How Do You Keep Love Alive Born into a Light Goodnight Rose Down In A Hole Peaceful Valley Grand Island Evergreen Magick Come Pick Me Up I See Monsters Down In A Hole (!), I See Monsters, How Do You Keep Love Alive and fucking MOCKINGBIRD...what could have been Don't know what this means for the rest of the bands existance. 2 NZ shows and then a North American tour to close which could prove tough considering Ryans ear really seems to be hindering him. I just wish he maybe told the crowd what was going on, after The Rescue Blues, he said his goodnight and slammed the mike on the ground - All over. Now for the casual fan or someone only at night one who missed the brilliance of Friday, this would leave a bitter taste, and we all know how easy it is for people to get on Ryans back and criticise, i just don't feel he didn't himself any favors in the eyes of some. Overall, a great trip that was well worth it, i'm confident to say that first nite would be in my top three shows ever. And the support act were damn awesome (The Clip Clop Club). Also got the signed CD with a big "Thank you!!" and other random drawings. Pics to come. Two from night Two

So yeah epic tour guys. I guess theres not too much to say that hasnt been covered. He was in great spirits at the brissy show despite moving round a fair bit and initially aborting "i taught myself how to grow old" because he couldnt hear himself. The crowd was really good at the start, but eventually more and more people started yelling shit and i thought he was getting a little tetchy but then i remembered that he probably deals with it everywhere he goes, he started riling up the people calling out for songs saying stuff like "oh sorry, im at work reight now, ill call you later.. oh sorry i dont think i know you" and "yeah, do that thing the audience does, make noise, yell shit, be the audience!" He also made special note of someone who kept yelling out for corina and played the "new version" which basically consisted of him playing some heavy chord and saying "corina" in a death metal growl. Oh and the eveing joke by Jon Graboff was: "I ran into a girl down in Brooklyn who said she'd do anything for $50... I said "paint my house"" bah-dm chk Gots infinity blues, mine came with a special message ;D Ive also Cardinalised my guitar in commemoration of the soon to be departed MFC
