Thought with the Cricket really getting under way now, would be good to discuss it all here. Right now watching and Sri Lanka are 3/45 ... yikes! Australia are playing so well right now

Good idea sunks - We really are looking good. Although i would like to see out new lineup be tested against a stronger side.
Lee was looking very sharp early and it was great to see Johnson get his first wicket at home after struggling for consistency early. Jacques, Clarke and Huss doing the job, things looking really good.
I can see Macgill taking 8-10 in Sydney to be honest.
Go Redbacks! (sigh)

How good is he looking?
As i type this, the umpires have substituted. The Commentators over-analysing it as usual - gold.

Jaques is starting the summer off well !!! Rain delay right now, I love how the commentators talk about the smallest things while the game is delayed. That in itself is entertaining

What a run out by Lockyear! Second test seems to be following the same as the first test.

man i thought it was gonna be a really close days play. Sri Lanka could have easily been in the contest if they lasted through the first session, sadly they did not.

What a day of Cricket!
India not being able to get the breakthru early, Hayden and Jacques getting Australia off to a great start - Enter Anil Kumble. What great bowling. Good to see Clark and Johnson putting on a few runs during the last stand, just lucky that Johnson was given not out on "that" decision.
Wasn't looking good for India early, but hey, they are having a crack and it's great to see.

I guess the big question is how will India bat, although it's an old lineup, the names in that batting order are top notch...Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman and the rest...

One of the most exciting test matches I have watched in years! How about the fall out now? Singh being banned for 3 matches now and India is threatening to leave ... pretty crazy! But yeah, awesome awesome test match

are you serious, have a look at it objectively for a second. Australia did not deserve to win that game, it was gifted to them by the umpires. Our first innings total should have only been 150 if that. One indian dude was given out caught behind off his pad in that second innings. I would be fucking pissed if i was an indian player or supporter, you'd like to think that bad decisions normally even themselves out (and I generally think they do) but india were at the wrong end of so many fucking shocking calls.
Bad decisions aside it was a truely absorbing test (dravid excluded) and was very exciting last hour or so days play, and i was stoked that we did win.

i have to say india were very unlucky,, how many times did symonds get out in his first innings? lol,, that massive nick behind, that decision changed the test..
what about when clarke nicked it to first slip and didnt walk, waited for the umpired to give him,, i mean seriously.
i think we are better then the way in which we played,, particularly yesterday.

wow, so india have suspended the tour with the appeal of the ban!

I gotta go with foxy on this one. India have a case for being hard done by. But they need to focus on doing the right thing (taking up the issue of umpiring with the ICC) rather than slagging the Aussies. In any sport, you play to the umpire. Symonds should have most definately been out with "that" edge, but Bucknor made the mother of all mistakes. I don't want to seem ramatic, but if you look at his recent track record, capped off by that prformance, it's time for him to go.
On another note, I can't remember the last time a bowler had such dominance as Harbijhan does with Ricky Ponting. Punter has admitted Singh does have his number, but after 8 dismissals, does he not know how to play him, or is it turning into a mental thing? Harbijhan will miss the rest of the series should that suspension stick, i just find it remarkable for a batsman of Pontings calibre.
And lastly in my ramblings - Tait in for Johnson, c'mon!

they need a left hand quixk... thats why johnson is in. i like tait too, but yeh, he's a lefty!

johnson has been pretty unlucky in my view, he has had some dreadful spells, but he picks himself up and creates some chances and they are dropped, just don't carry or are off no balls.
If lateline was right, apparently Harbijhan called Symonds a 'monkey' but surely that can't be right, They wouldnt complain about that would they? Hogg alledegly called kumble a 'bastard' so he'll probably get 5 matches out if old mate got 3 for monkey.

it seems a bit wierd getting 3 match ban for monkey. especially when no umpires heard anything. I wouldnt trust anyone is the australian side with this case either. Gilchrist who is meant to be australias most 'honest' player, appeals when he would know it didnt hit dravids bat (having the best view of it!).. clark stays at the crease when he hits it to first slip, then the indians are meant to trust that he has caught a ball before its hit the ground? It depends on which cultures interpretation of the word they use. apparently in australia calling someone a monkey is racist. In india calling someone a bastard is a very big insult. Plus Hogg is the shittiest player ever. He cant keep his fucking tongue in his mouth. someone hit him so he bites the frikken thing off!! Somehow people love him for having no tallent but trying his little heart out *sniffle*
