Billy Corgan To Tour Australia Former Smashing Pumpkins/Zwan frontman Billy Corgan will include Australia on his upcoming world tour. The tour kicks of June 1 in Lisbon, Portugal with the Australian leg kicking in on July 26 in Melbourne. Corgan is mounting his first ever solo tour to promote his debut solo album The Future Embrace which is due on June 27. Of the album Corgan says "Many people assume when I do more progressive work that I am trying to move away from something, when honestly what I am trying to do is get closer to who I really am. I tried to sum up all my feelings about my life and the world around me in the most beautiful ways I could dream up. It is easy to be negative, and much harder to find that silver lining behind the clouds of modern society." The album includes a cover of the Bee Gees 'To Love Someobody' and special guests Robert Smith from the Cure and his former Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlain. Tickets for the Australian leg of the tour go on sale June 8. Dates are: Tuesday 26 Palais Theatre, Melbourne Wednesday 27 The Enmore, Sydney Friday 29 The Tivoli, Brisbane from www.undercover.com.auSo there you go, he is coming - i guess i'll have to trek it to Melbourne - i've never done that for a concert before....

I'm sorry mister... I'll be good. But seriously. OMG. Several frantic phone calls and much random office screaming later... my coworkers now hate me and I am still having trouble with the breathing.

Oh Jesse and I will be going to all 3 shows. No question about it.
If this turns out to be a false rumour or something I'm going to be devastated. Seriously. I am thinking about calling the Palais to see if they can confirm.

Sorry, can't say much really, but his band is one of probably many vying for the support spot.

thankfully, we have a credit card... i think Mr Branson will have to dig deep in the next few months but i know he has deep pockets. All is good! We at Ozphoria HQ (ie. the brunky household) are thinking that we will only do Melbourne and Sydney. Neither of us have the desire to leg it all the way to Brisvegas, plus we'll be back East in a few weeks after that for NIN. Perhaps we need to put plans in motion to scam a visit with Billy...

well never has my heart futtered and sunk so quickly back-to-back. there should be an international treaty signed that any thread titles or news titles or whatever, if they are going to say "australia tour", they HAVE to put "eastern australia tour". you have no idea how excited i was so see he was coming to australia, the most highly regarded musician of my life. then the disappointment. i can't afford a trip over east, on time or money. fair to say right now i'm actually upset. so.... at this stage it looks like i'll only be going if he brings jimmy, james and darcy as his backing band and plays MCIS in its entirety.

I so have to go and make up for NEVER seeing the pumpkins and the missing out on the secret gig even tho i had a ticket!!!! Please be true so I can make up for this tragedy

Its funny how when i recieved a payrise today i thought "good, now i can get my new computer soon" and then this comes along, and it seems a computer will never come. The more money i save, the more totally more important things pop up.
Im definatly in for Sydney. We should organise some sort of Ozphoria Syndicate so that we all get tickets close to each other.

F*&KING yeah, man, that's just the best news. I'm so f#$king psyched!! And I don't usually use profanity with such abandon, but f*&k it, it's worth it!!-the enmore's gonna be awesome, should really suit his music (although I wouldn't give a shit if he was playing at the local PCYC, hehehe). The Gods have smiled down on me-Tori and Billy in the same year. Whatever I've done to please them I'm gonna keep doing it! And to you guys that missed out-maybe we should start a fund to get you over here. I mean, it's complete BS that someone shouldn't be able to see their fave artist in pesron after supporting him for so long simply because they were born in the wrong place.

we are going to organise a petition, and try and get in contact with the promotors to see if we can get extra dates annouced.
im still waiting for the dates to be announced on Corgans website. but when has undercover ever been wrong?
also the Enmore Theatre, is that all seats?

The Enmore's an old 1920's theatre-It's mostly seats-but they have a fairly large section between the seats and the stage-around about 20 metres-although that's just approximate. The seats are in two tiers, sorta like the ones in old european opera houses. I think it seats about 2000 in total.
I'll sign that, and although petitions have unfortunately been less than successful in the past, it's definitely worth a go.

ohh that sounds amazing.
im thinking there will be more Sydney shows annouced, because there are a couple of days between Sydney and Bris Vegas ... keep an eye and an ear out for pre-sale tickets.
i hope these dates get announced soon on bc.com
i've also emailed rosie beaton, to try and find out if JJJ will be recording any shows or holding a special Live at the Wireless. Also to see if we can get any confirmation on this tour.
