Shiiiiit but also woo? First of all, I'm surprised they're doing a full tour and about Festival Hall. I was really expecting a smaller venue. Secondly, I have no idea how many shows I'll be able to do. First thoughts were Melb and Syd only, but I have no idea how I'll be able to stand missing out on the others...

The Perth venue is all seated. Few friends have seen Tori Amos there and said it was great, but yeah this is the Pumpkins ... I'm sure everybody will stand up and run to the front. Anyhoo - yay! gfresh - DAMMIT!

I think this time i will only go to the Melbourne show. But if i will be in Melbourne then i may as well see the Adelaide show too. Furthermore, it would be a pity to miss out on Sydney, and Brisbane is beautiful this time of year...

Yeah sucks......... i'll get over......... maybe.?? It hurts to look on here now and see all you guy's excited about the tour.!!! Hope you guy's have a great time.!! One of the best things of the 2008 tour was just waiting in line for 4 -6 hours...... not Melbourne... to close to the highway.!! I might have to start saving for a euro trip because i guessing they'll be heading there soon.

The way I see it is, the band are free to tour ... none of them are tied up with families etc so we will keep seeing them. Plus now Billy is dated an Aussie girl, chances are he'll visit more often

TOUR DATES INFO Tour Info SMASHING PUMPKINS TO TOUR THIS OCTOBER!
The Frontier Touring Company are thrilled to announce the return of The Smashing Pumpkins to Australia this October for shows in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan will be joined on stage by drummer Mike Byrne, bassist Nicole Fiorentino and guitarist Jeff Shroeder – currently touted by the media as the best Smashing Pumpkins reincarnation yet.
‘The Pumpkins's new lineup showed it may be the best since the original version in the '90s made the band icons of the alternative scene. The musical interaction between the four was excellent, breathing new energy…’- Spinner.com
‘By and large, Smashing Pumpkins are what they were: Mr. Corgan’s platform for tormented thoughts and invincible guitar…The new Smashing Pumpkins share Mr. Corgan’s sense of dynamics.’ – The New York Times
The Smashing Pumpkins have created one of the most acclaimed bodies of work in musical history and sold over 30 million albums. Formed in Chicago in 1988, they released Gish, their influential (and platinum) debut in 1991, which was followed by more platinum and multi-platinum albums including the nine-time platinum Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness and the four-time platinum Siamese Dream as well as the platinum certified 1998 album Adore.
The pivotal group’s many hits, such as “Disarm,” ‘’Cherub Rock,” “Tonight Tonight” and ‘Tarantula,” defined the alternative music era and continue to resonate on modern rock radio, influencing a whole new generation.
Their most recent work is Teargarden by Kaleidyscope—an in-progress 44-song work, with songs being issued online one at a time for free (4-song physical EPs will be made available as the songs are released).
Come spend the night with The Smashing Pumpkins; it is sure to be the concert all true rock fans live for.
Frontier Members will have access to a pre-sale from 12 noon AEST, Tuesday 14 September to 12 noon AEST, Wednesday 15 September. Tickets will then be available to the general public from 12 noon local time, Thursday 16 September.

Frontier Pre-sale is Tuesday 14th. My pre-sale alert email just came through from Frontier.
I just noticed though that the Adelaide link doesn't yield any result. Ticketek are apparently selling tickets for the Adelaide show too yet it isn't available as a venue option on the drop-down menu. I've contacted Frontier and let them know - might be an oversight on their part or perhaps a last-minute arrangement with the Adelaide Entertainment Centre Theatre.
EDIT: This just in from Frontier: Hi Bree, Ticketek are currently still loading that date sorry, thanks for noticing and letting us know. It should be up within the hour. Apologies for any inconvenience caused! Cheers Frontier Info

The Theatre Adelaide??? Must be the Thebby. Which would be great, much much better venue than the Ent Centre.

The Tivoli is probably the best medium sized venue in Brisbane so I'm pretty happy! I'm a little bit undecided, but I think I'll just give in and grab tickets for another chance to catch Billy...

The Theatre Adelaide??? Must be the Thebby. Which would be great, much much better venue than the Ent Centre. It's the newish threatre complex at the Ent Cent. I went along to see Vampire Weekend there when it was just opened, so don't really know how a wall of sound will go in it.
