oh and btw its curious/obvious that the syd and melb shows are solo's and that they are doing the bdo seeing as the fasterlouder thing says that RATM shows are also scheduled for Auckland, Queensland, Adelaide and Perth....hmmm. Not half abvious is it!

Could RATM and SP on the same bdo bill? i think that kills our chances of an sp bdo tour. Not all bad really.

Lol, someones in trouble. it basically just said the same stuff that steve posted from faster louder, but more official looking, and down the bottom it said in bold "This media release is embargoed until thursday 20th september 2007" which is strange seeing as they announced it on the radio this morning

yep someone must have fucked up.
Doing PR at uni and we are learning the does and don'ts of press releases at the moment. Firstly if something has an embargo on it it should be at the top of the Release so that people actually read that first before the heading, so shit like this does not happen.

Could RATM and SP on the same bdo bill? i think that kills our chances of an sp bdo tour. Not all bad really. why not? tool/muse happened. Admittedly i'm a tool fan and not really a muse fan but i dont think tool and muse are in the same league. Tool far more senior and the bands have different fan bases (again this is probably debatable and i don't want to start a tool v muse debate). Tool/Muse on the same bill is totally different to SP/RATM. SP/RATM are both bands that peaked in the 90s, have similar loyal fanbases and are on 'reunion' tours to me it seems unlikely that they will be on the same BDO bill, i think they will only want one older band and a newer band as the major to appeal to two different sets of fans.

Mars Volta talk -
"News da Universal Italia (grazie a Ellie!): la data di pubblicazione del quarto album dei The Mars Volta, The Bedlam In Goliath, è spostata al 28 gennaio 2008.
Il primo singolo estratto dall'album, Goliath, dovrebbe essere in radio a partire dal 19 novembre"
there is now 90% official word that the release date is January 28, and the first single from the album comes out on November 19. It is unclear to me from the wording whether the single is Goliath, or if they are referring to the album when they say "Goliath."

Did anyone get RATM tickets? The guys I work with were online at 8:59 waiting for the site to click over, and two minutes later (whilst Ticketmaster was thinking) they were sold out. No luck on the phone either. Sold out.
So, does this mean they'll announce a second show? If it sold out that quickly? (Also, BDO is not an option cos we'll all be in Tassie for a wedding)

Hi Vic
I missed out for Melbourne, i was logged on at 7:50, apparently Melboune sold out in 2 mins and Sydney 5....The site had minimal tickets it would seem. People in Sydney were lining up at lunchtime yesterday....
The terrible thing - I read that tickets are on ebay already and have been since about 9:15.
Not sure about second shows, but would be fanastic, i'm pretty...well, down i guess.

Fuck ticketmaster and any venue for being affiliated with them. I didnt even want to go this one but seriously they need to pick up their act. The website is terrible staff are terrible, yet the venues that have are great (syd ent centre etc) and if the pumpkins come here i'm dreading dealing with those people.

The net/phone with ticketmaster was always going to blow it's load. and not because ticketmaster are shit. surely you're not surprised. both syd and melb went onsale at the same time through ticketmaster for venues with fuck all tickets onsale generally speaking.
i got my arse down to a ticket master at 7.30pm last night and sat it out. landed 6 GA tickets. second in line got another 6. 3rd in line got 4ga 2 seats. 4th in line got 1 seat and that was it. sold out completely by 9.04am at my count.
best of luck with the second show. sounds like it'll be announced soon.

Someone from Canberra said that they lined up behind people who had camped out overnight, and all of THIRTEEN tickets were allocated. when i got to uni today i was chatting to people and as it turns out one of my mates went down there at 5am and he said that people that a bunch of people who had camped missed out... surely they should lower the limit a person could by, 6 is way high. also it might be time to bring the notion of names of IDs and tickets, if they are taking the time to pat down people at large shows like this then they could easily do this.
