Those people havent listened to Basement.
One of the greatest songwriters of all time. I shall be lighting a candle for him tonight. R.I.P. Elliott.

I didn't realise it was self-inflicted or murder, I just assumed accidental! I don't really know much about elliot smith except that a lot of people really adore his songs. I'm sure I would too from what I have heard.

I'll send another care package (or should that be kez-package). Yeah Jimmy, Basement is a pretty dark album and kind of makes the indicent obvious ... Its been a while since I've listened to it ... might be the day to give it a spin.
Why are artists that bring us so much joy always the most tortured?

has anyone picked up the Kaiser Chiefs new album yet? i decided to have one more week of Josh Pyke on repeat and i'll be picking it up on the weekend, along with the new Snow Patrol one, and possibly Travis's new one.

@ Kez, he was stabbed twice in the chest, which is why it seems so unlikely to be suicide, it would take quite something to go back for a second attempt, but I have no doubt that he did it.
I actually had a quite harrowing experience listening to Basement this new years where i was the only person awake after a long night and just completely fell into it, it's truly a resignation- i still have difficulty listening to it after feeling it that deeply. I only recently heard the message his friends dropped into the album mix of Kings Crossing (if people dont know what i mean then take a listen), it gives me shivers everytime now

Im probably in the minority here, but i really dont get what the big deal is with the who. I find all of their songs really formulaic and samey. just sayin.

i used to know pete satchell , the guitarist (dallas crane), though i knew his sister suzie better. she was really cool, we shared some great times together. i also skated with pat the singer a couple of times.
that's my uninteresting, namedropping, story for the day
