Really - Scar Tissue is actually a REALLY big seller, especially at Xmas time. My brother ordered it from the USA in hard cover when it first came out, I have been meaning to give it a read for ages. I will have to let him know about the tv series.
I just want Morrissey to confirm his dates. Im sorry to say to NIN - but with KOL and MOZ (when he confirms) there is no way I am going to end up going to Soundwave.
KOL outside on a warm summers night in adelaide is seriously going to be the gig of the year, i cannot wait!

Looks like i'll have to pick up said album then hey! In other news, was flicking thru radio stations and caught Dools on JJJ saying there is a Kaiser Chiefs annoncement tomorrow - no prises for guessing what it is. I was thinking they could be a chance for V festival - But there's no way they would headline and it wouldn't make sense to announce the headliner before anyone else....but it could be the case...we will see Who am i kidding, V festival 2009 won't beat this years

i forgot that i'm signed up with Frontier through another email account, but can only check it at home. if anyone is desperate for the code let me know.

Nothing special but i do want to give it another go. Was going to tonite but i left my CD's at a beach house Sunday. A girl i know is looking after them for me right now. I wonder if she realises the power she currently has with them in her possession, haha.

RYAN ADAMS & THE CARDINALS RETURNING TO AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND IN 2009 After wowing audiences in 2007, Ryan Adams & The Cardinals will return to our stages in 2009. The Frontier Touring Company is pleased to confirm that The Cardinals will perform in Fremantle, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Wellington and Auckland in January and February 2009. The Cardinals will return in support of their album Cardinology (out now through Universal). Their tenth album release in a phenomenal nine year run, has been pronounced by many as The Cardinal’s most accomplished of their career. The feedback from fans and critics alike has been unanimous: Cardinology is a musical masterpiece. “Cardinology is a classic-rock record to the bone, nodding to influences that Adams has conjured before but never so well.” – Rolling Stone “…impressive pictures of craftsmanship…” – Boston Globe “Like the rest of this moving album, it whispers in the dark instead of hitting you in the face.” – Mojo “In truth he’s delivered some of the more memorable albums of the decade and there’s no let-up in quality on Cardinology.” – The Courier Mail In the live arena, night after night The Cardinals deliver shows that promise to live on in fans memories for years to come. Their last tour across Australia and New Zealand drew acclaim across the board. The New Zealand Herald described a show as “confoundingly great” while The Australian were similarly amazed: “…the singer lead his troupe through a set that proved to be spellbinding, occasionally puzzling and musically top-notch.” Beat Magazine likened the show to the best: “That’s the thing about Adams – like Lou Reed, like Iggy – even when he’s bad, he’s still very good,” but it was Inpress who described The Cardinals most aptly, declaring them “knock-your-socks-off amazing”. With a history of selling out shows across Australia and New Zealand there’s no doubt this tour will follow suit. Tickets on sale 9am Friday 28 November. I totally forgot to post this, this is easily my most anticipated release, going to be totally epic: The Empyrean is my new record and will be released worldwide via Record Collection on January 20th 2009. It was recorded on and off between December 2006 and March 2008. It is a concept record that tells a single story both musically and lyrically. The story takes place within one person, and there are two characters. It contains a version of Tim Buckley’s, ‘Song To The Siren’ and the rest of the songs are written by me. My friend Josh plays on it, as does Flea. It also features Sonus Quartet, Johnny Marr and The New Dimension Singers. I’m really happy with it and I’ve listened to it a lot for the psychedelic experience it provides. It should be played as loud as possible and it is suited to dark living rooms late at night. - John Frusciante, November 3rd, 2008 The Empyrean Track listing: 1. Before The Beginning 2. Song To The Siren 3. Unreachable 4. God 5. Dark/Light 6. Heaven 7. Enough Of Me 8. Central 9. One More Of Me 10. After The Ending Unreachable is up now on myspace: www.myspace.com/johnfrusciantemusic

I'm such a big fan of all his solo stuff. I dare say that this album could be quite the masterpiece.

That's the general vibe I've been getting since i first heard murmers about it, back when it was just being called "solo x". Originally i thought it would be something of the scale of Shadows, but now I'm sure its going to be something even more, possibly even his definitive work. Listening to Unreachable too, its everything I love about him rolled up neatly, and I like the fact he's obviously not concerned about putting solos in his stuff anymore, he's just blended it all together

Listening to Unreachable too, its everything I love about him rolled up neatly, and I like the fact he's obviously not concerned about putting solos in his stuff anymore, he's just blended it all together That sounds very exciting. From what I've read, back from when it was referred to as "Solo X" the album will involve a lot more orchestral based stuff. I got really excited at the idea of Frusciante and an Orchestra. So that is my only hope for this album. Beyond that, I hope that it is just beautiful and consistant. I think "Shadows Collide With People," "To record water for ten days," "A Sphere In The Heart Of Silence" and the first Ataxia record are albums that people must hear. So much goodness on them. So many layers and a great dose of melodies. "By The Way" over time has slowly become my favourite Peppers album, but was an album I couldn't fully grasp until after I heard "Shadows Collide With People," it made perfect sense. Great chords and great melodies. I've always felt that "Stadium Arcadium," was a great record, close to there best from a song point of view, but Frusciante for me seemed to be really taking his guitar playing in a more, I think you'll understand when say, Omar like direction, which was cool. I'd personally love to see the Peppers abandon convention and make there next record totally freak out ala Mars Volta. We've got enough Chili Peppers hits, I think it's time for them to get really freaky.

Quite frankly I think the chili peppers have now exhausted themselves of options, John completely took over the band on stadium, Im at the point where I hope they call it quits and John joins volta as a full time touring member. I totally get what you mean about BTW and Shadows, he was definitely striving towards the same goal on both, all about the layers and the textures. I dont actually have Sphere in the heart of silence, Ill have to check it, its just a matter of getting round to buying all of his stuff, it seems to go in and out of shops pretty randomly, and i never have money when i find the stuff i want.
What's peoples opinions on 'Smile From the Streets You Hold'? Perssonally, despite him throwing it together for drug money, I think its a truly great work, its so unguarded and it somehow really draws me into its world. If anything I think there are just too many ideas going on at once, its as though he couldnt focus on a single strand of an idea, he just put everything together. A Fall thru the ground is really beautiful too.
