its kinda like us pulling out of oceania... the teams left behind are crap and are nothing without australia in the draw.. although to have any real hope of succeding at the WC, we needed to go to asia...
Canberra would ahve made sense, initially they were going for one team per state, makes sense to chose canberra. But i tihnk the only team to put in a bid was townsville...

could well be, but didnt AZ just beat newcastle? Atleast its not far for bremen to travel. Dad was saying that they are showing the bremen game in the first week, so i'm happy with that I wish SBS copuld get some good games from 2008 qualifiers.. i think they are showing england 2 games against absolute minos.. germany are playing the czech republic with a heavily understrength team.. i reckon that cvould be an awesome match..

Sucks about spurs.. do you wish you were that player who ran out on the pitch and tried to smack lampard?
|
|
|
Post by foxy on Mar 22, 2007 14:22:01 GMT 7
doesnt everyone??? i dislike lampard, with a passion. Same with most other players from london teams besides spurs. If i were a fan of the english national team i would be so pissed... Its clear lampard and gerrard dont work together yet they both seem to make it into the team. Gerrard has better distribution and all round game, but lampard will always start cause he occasionally scores a screamer from 30 yards (he has scored some awesome goals, i'll give him that). Heres my england midfield that i think would dominate.
J. Cole/Downing then Gerrard/lampard off the bench then Carrick/Hargreaves (either one) then Beckham (he still has plenty to offer)/lennon (this guy is great player off the bench, not quite ready to be a starter)
end rant about the english national team.

lol, nice rant there is just something not working with the english team.. i dont like them, so i'm fine with that I agree with the beckham call, but i dont think hargreaves is worth shit.. i think bayern should sell him asap if people are really wiling to pay alot for him, and buy someone with tallent.. and there also seems to be such a hatred within the london teams, especially arsenal and chelsea.. i like arsenal, purely for the fact taht they will do brawls and shit outside of the rules against chelsea and mnchester ;D

brecianos goal was awesome, the way he chipped over the players foot entering the box, then shooting.. good work!

see, get rid of lampard, play gerrrard and hargreaves in the centre and wingers where they should be and england win.

seriously, if they didnt win, they might aswell pull out of the comp now.. andoras like san marino in the germany group I'm happy with Germanys 1:0 loss to denmark.. against the czech republic we had 3 first team players injured, and now for this friendly released 8 from the usual starting 11 so we fielded practically a second strength team..

The Danes aren't as good as they used to be though, I'd be a little disappointed. Germany doesn't have as much depth as it used to. How about Liverpool, 4-1 over Arsenal, Bentiez has to play Crouch more often, and get Fowler involved more too! And the Scots had a win as well, I was stoked about that considering my roots!

big call on the germans, they have a great depth i feel at the momment, they have 4 strikers out at the momment, and can still field the likes of podolsky, and kuranyi. Great midfield, and an ever improving defence.

i couldnt comment too greatly on the depth of the current germain team except for to agree with the strikers comment, did kuranyi even get a run in 06?
big games for our boys in a couple of days scott... semi confident about our fixture in spain, my worry is that we play chelsea 41 hours later and Jol will hold back... I pray he fields the best strength side...

yeah, Kuranyi was left out of the squad for the world cup. Crazy times. But with klose and Podolski as the standard duo, with neuville back up it was a nice attack. And now we have a new great guy called Gomez (great german name.. but ofcourse injured) And yeah, the draw back of uefa cup against champions league i guess. We are also playing on saturday... atleast we arent playing a top team but you guys are coming off a win against reading.. I'm quietly confident we can get atleast a draw away, but we dont have a great record against dutch teams It'll change though The bundesliga is crazy at the moment! Schalke, then 2 points back Bremen, then 2 points back stuttgart, then 2 points back bayern! What a packed top 4!

Post by foxy on Apr 3, 2007 20:06:19 GMT 7
yeah bundesliga sounds very close is a win worth two or three points over there?... On a side note, one of my lecturers is from germany i keep on meaning to ask him who he follows...
but honestly i wouldnt care if we took the reserves to chelsea, id rather we get wins to against blackburn sevilla, a win or draw against wigan to leave us in great form for the north london derby with arsenal, which is penned in for the 21st, but is likely to change if we progress in europe.
spurs are doing pretty well at the moment though, we were like 13th at one stage late last year and now wer are outright 6th, 2 points behind bolton and 7 points behind arsenal in 4th...

also i thought it was interesting that sbs are showing the breman AZ game as opposed to spurs sevilla game, i thought a more general interest would be shown to english teams... But alas it will be good to watch anyways if im not too hung over from the night before, thursday is last day of uni and hand in an assignment so im planning a big on for holy thursday!

Well fucking done bayern! Show those italian scum (no offense to any italian/half italian ozphorians.. are there any?) What a fucking joke of a penalty!! I would ahve thought the english games would ahve also appealed to a broader audience.. which is why, even thought its a dead match practically, they will probably show the liverpool game instead of bayern/ac. Its hard to say against chelsea, you've proven you can hold them to a draw, but atleast with a reserves team you could give you top 11 a little rest before the return match.. 6th is a uefa cup qualifier i think.. 5 and 4 are straight in? or is 4 a UCL qualifier? And a win is 3 points in the bundesliga.

In the premier league the top 2 go into the Champs League Main Draw, 3 and 4 into the qualifying rounds of the champs league and 5 and 6 into the UEFA cup, I THINK! hehehe. Wins are 3 points in the premier league as well.
I may have been a bit harsh on Germany, I loved the way they played at the world cup, very attacking, and I am not really in a position to comment on depth, I just have an opinion on everything!! hahaha. I'd actually compare Klose to Crouch, although I think Crouch is better with his feet. I was a bit upset they didn't show the Reds/PSV match (from a personal POV), but I'll agree that the Bayern/Milan game was the bigger. I'm glad we got the win, and a comprehensive one too. We should definitely go through at Anfield next week barring something drastic!

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!!!!!!!!!!! crouch is just a gaint pole!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Klose is brilliant with his head, as is crouch, klose has a great kick, (crouch probably does aswell..) and can take players on, and is a great attacker in the sense he sets up alot of goals. I think with PSV and the smaller clubs that get through you need alot of luck, and when that luck runs out, or if a star is missing or something, you just get pumped.. like what happened against liverpool. And, i had to laugh this mornign, has anyone ever heard of 'third best player at world cup'? It sounds like such an italian thing! There is no way that dick would ahve been world player of the year if italy hadnt won the WC. They always have to have things in their favour.. getting Kahn suspended against AC, AC complain, then he gest suspended, just like frings at the WC. There was NO photo evidence frings hit him, frings denied it, the player hit denied it, and yet cos the italian whinged enough about it, he got suspended. nothing would ahve happened until the italiens put in a complaint about it. It seems i really hate italy. Well, i really just hate italian football. Its fucking corrupt, they are fucking terrible divers, Inzaghi is a little fucker of a diver! And they play dirty! Gartuso is a dog, as is the wanker that got suspended for elbowing at the WC.. And i do hate them Ok, rant over. edit: In germany its 1/2 champions league 3 UCL qualifiers 4/5 Uefa cup 6 UC qualifiers 7 Inter Toto Cup.

the prem is very similar. 1/2 UCL 3/4 UCL qualifiers 5/7 UEFa 8 Inter toto (what the fuck is this anyway? i know if you win you get to go into the uefa cup, but isnt it a rubbish comp?)

Post by boelsen on Apr 4, 2007 15:13:12 GMT 7
its some wierd comp in the mid east isnt it? But the one good thing about it is that its pre season, so you dont have to waste any more season time trying to get into the inter toto cup.

Yeah you're right foxy! The intertoto is a way for teams desperate for publicity to scrape into the UEFA cup, hahaha! Some teams even choose not to play it! Klose may have a bit of speed on Crouch, and maybe consistency, Crouch can drift in and out of games. I dunno, to be honest, I see a lot more of Crouch. Klose just seems like a one-trick pony to me, but if he can do what you say I'll gladly stand corrected!...I did get a good laugh out of the giant pole thing, hahahaha!! Klose is probably the more effective player, but on his day Crouch is the man. Don't like the way Italians play either...I mean, barring the corruption, it's such a boring defensive style of football!

i think the ultimate trick pony is ronaldo at man u! I tihnk he is a hopelessly horrible player.
