Bleh - i never wanna see 'Vegas'
Forgetting Sarah Marshall on the other hand.... Kristen Bell - oh baby! Plus the Apatow connection... sounds like it should be a winner!
I watched 'Hook' on the weekend. Speilberg at his best! Its so much fun. Hopefully he has gotten back to that for the new Indy flick coming out

Forgetting Sarah Marshall on the other hand.... Kristen Bell - oh baby! i just looked her up on IMDB cos i wasn't sure who you meant, i haven't actually seen any of the things she's been in but she looks freakishly familiar... she's the voice over on Gossip Girl though, love that show

she is/was Veronica Mars! plus she was in Reefer Madness - that was bizzare (but she does get into a latex corset & boots outfit...mmmmmmm)

Mila Kunis (That 70s Show) totally out shines Kristen Bell in this movie. Actually, Jason Segel's wang out shines most of the actors... Oh and Russell Brand is just gold.
I'm a big fan of the Apatow bunch, Bill Hader, Jonah Hill and Paul Rudd are all great in this.

I just went and saw INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL. I watched Indy 1 and 3 before I went to the cinema (Indy 2 is not worth watching) - this one is better than 2 but not as good as 1 or 3.
Ok if youre reading this I hope you have either A) seen the movie or B) really dont give a shit. Cos this movie is pretty bad. Aliens - I mean what the fcuk!?!?! Sure - Im willing to run with the occult - taking some liberties with the tales of the bible, wrath of god, holy grail all of that. Elaborate ancient booby traps - sure, what the hell. But aliens?! Come on Lucas - you can do better - save the aliens for Star Wars. Indy 4's strength lies in its chase sequences and swashbuckling fisticuffs. Of which there is a whole heap. Cate Blanchett is pretty good as a stereotypical Russkie, substituting for the stereotypical Nazis. The whole Russian occult bit kinda reaked of Hellboy for me. Shia LaBouef initially doing his best Brando impression (a la the Wild One) is pretty good as part of what im sure will be a reccuring cast. The allusions to the old cast who arent in this one is decent. Did anyone else think that John Hurt looked like he was doing his best audition for the role of Professor Calculus in the upcoming Tintin movie!?!? Frankly im a little disappointed - a bit too much (occasionally obvious) CGI. But i will definitely watch it again when its on DVD or Foxtel. Make up your own mind i guess...

That would make it worth seeing.

I took an 'extended lunch' yesterday and saw the new Batman!
FREAKIN AWESOME!!! Its so much more than a comic movie - it makes the characters seem so believeable that it could be like a CSI show or a regular Cop-Thriller movie. So so very good! Ledger is good as per the hype - but I thought Aaron Eckhart was bloody damn good too. Only real complaint is that Batman's deep voice (as opposed to Bruce Waynes regular voice) is WAY too deep and growly.
Joker is perfect. Tim Burton wishes Jack Nicholson was half this good!

I can't believe it actually totally met my expectations, which were ridiculously high. Great great movie, pulled off the line between gritty realism and comic book extravegence so well. Ledger is amazing as everyones saying, Eckhart and Gary Oldman are really great too. The Batman voice was used in the last one as well and didnt really irritate me, it is slighlty out of place in some of the scenes where he's not trying to be menacing though.

The differentiation between batman and bruce's voices was an innovation by Kevin Conroy who voiced the characters in the 90's Batman: The Animated Series. Pretty much everyone who has attempted the role since has made the same adjustments - Bruce: normal/slightly happy - Batman: menacing/deep

i'll definitely be seeing it again in the next week or so!
Also - i saw the Batman Anime cartoons the other day (before i saw the film) theyre meant to be like what the animatrix was between the two matrix films.
Its not quite the same (as in it doesnt really explain anything) but they are some pretty cool little animated short stories. They start off a bit so-so - but by the end - its pretty darn cool!

id recommend watching Batman Begins in its entirety before you run off to see the new one. Other than that - you dont really need to know much else.

OMG The Dark Knight was soooooo awesome. I have been a Christian Bale fan since I first saw Velvet Goldmine, so it has been great to see him getting more and more roles. Heath Ledger actually is really great as the Joker, but the hype is so huge that its hard to say that without feeling like you are just adding to the bullshit, if you know what i mean.
What else have we seen lately, umm...Prince Caspian. That was ok, LONG, but ok.
We have rented heaps of DVD's lately, some we saw were Walk Hard another apatow film, really funny. Some other war one that had Christian Bale in it but i cant think what it was called now. It was meant to be in the vietnam war and we were saying it kinda looked like it was shot in Hawaii and then there were 2 actors from LOST in it - so we assumed it was Hawaii! hehe, for those who are interested it was the dude from the orientation videos in the hatches, and the little scientist dude who lands on the island with the other people form the ship.
We also got Strangers With Candy - Amy Sedaris and Steven Colbert - hilarious as always. And now we are part way through watching The Darwin Awards.

Hey KeZ - just to rub it in a bit... Christian Bale's half sister nearly moved in with me and my mate! She is friends with my mate and we were looking for a housemate at the time. They share a father but she rarely sees him, so thats kinda crud. She says she recieves alot of emails where he is included in the CC.
So there's my little star spotting for today...

OMG! NO WAY!! How amazingly awesome is that! haha. We have had massive crushes on Christian since he was a wee little bisexual glam rock fan called Arthur in 1998 haha, he was so cute! btw if there are people who havent seen Velvet Goldmine yet, its so much fun. Its a Todd Haynes film (he has since done I'm Not There about Bob Dylan), stars Ewan McGregor, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Toni Collette, Eddy Izzard. The Soundtrack includes, Placebo, Thom Yorke, Shudder To Think.

Sunks - you'll be pleased to hear I finally got to see this movie on the magic Foxtel machine (I love my tv) and you're right, she totally does look like a certain bass player. In other news, I'm seeing The Dark Knight on Friday. Can't wait.
