Oh we are catching Regurgitator too ... I can't wait. We realised that we haven't seen them in all the time Bree and I have been together! So yeah, very excited to see them play (they are playing Amps so same place we saw The Horrors). Also, we might make the flight to SA for Manics

Oh are they the Killjoy / General Electric shows?

Post by boelsen on Aug 12, 2010 21:12:38 GMT 7
yep it says a 90 minute set, but both shows are the album and a 2 song encore, should still be awesome!

Oh I like the idea of the 2 song encore ... Comfort Me, Run or Home Again? ...

they would have been cool choices to finish the night on a high, but its: screw top and 'it', for the killjoy show. dont know this 'it' song, but screwtop will be cool. and for the tge show its interconnector, and la la land.
im not a massive fan of killjoy, but tomorrow night should be awesome. almost looking forward more to the tour alter in the year on the new album.

Yeah Killjoy is a good album, but I would t say it's solid. They are interesting encore songs, not really ones they've played for a while. It is from Devolve, old school metal. Man I'd love to hear that.
I expect lots of stories. Really jealous, especially the General Electric show ... Even though in saw them heaps on that tour would be great again.

Metallica anyone? Get your metal head out?
I'm not a fanboy, but it's one of those bands that were always on my to see list. Quite excited. I'll be one of those annoying people at the concert yelling out old song names like people were at the pumpkins shows

I'm not a Metallica fan but if I had some spare cash I'd pay to see them just to see them. From all accounts they put on a pretty awesome show.

just to back it up a bit: TGE show was incredibly awesome, a packed room holding only 300 people is the ideal place for shihad, they just won it. i'll be at SSPU in melbourne for their headline show, and the BoT show. And i'll hopefully be reviewing, well, get my brother to review and be his +1 for a metallica melbourne show. would love to have shot metallica, but managed to get soundwave if i let another photographer do metallica i agree SSPU should be headlining though! apparently its a double headliner, which probably means both playing 60 minutes sets or something i guess.

Ohh enjoy, Steve. I know that Rufus is someone I would like, but I have just never put in the time. I mean, how can you not enjoy someone who does a Judy Garland cover album?
Now that SP are done, my next BIG gig is: Manic Street Preachers - Adelaide Manic Street Preachers - Melbourne
And oh man these shows are going to be totally amazing. Still hoping in my heart of hearts that we can make Perth, but really don't know.

Metallica was good Unfortunately it wasn't excellent. I like metallica, but I'm not a fanboy.
You can have all the lights and flames and lasers and beach balls you want (which were amazing by the way) But if you can't connect with the majority of the crowd (35000+ people!!) it's no good. They had the same issue the pumpkins had last time around. The bulk of the crowd didn't know most of the older or newer songs and some people started leaving during the encore. I wasn't expecting a greatest hits show, and I do like some of the new songs, but the trouble with metallica is if you don't know the heavier songs they all sound the same I was bored after about 60 mins of the 140 min show, and only thought it was about a 6.5/10, and when tickets were $150 I was expecting more. still good to hear enter sandman nothing else matters etc
