Ya I just noticed that in ur calendar I'll be there tomorrow night and probably next week as well Josh you should come along you would like it I think. The supports have all been very good too support 8 30 the verses9 30 they will be off stage before 11 Usually 1 hour 15 set very wothwhile to see live tho photos that a friend took gallery.mac.com/torak#100008a review from Howzat recently From Jeff Jenkin's Howzat! column www.newherenowlive.com/howzat.php?id=ALL
ELLA GOOD Ella Hooper could be the new Linda Ronstadt. She’s a wonderful singer and undeniably sexy. With Killing Heidi taking an extended break, Ella’s musical adventures have taken a left turn, with The Verses, her new band with brother Jesse. Word is they will soon be signing a major deal. Killing Heidi were an excellent band, but were let down by being over-produced. The Heidi sound ended up being a bit plastic at times, whereas The Verses feels real, with a genuine warmth, showcasing the singer and the song. Howzat! caught the band at The Toff last week, halfway through their Tuesday night residency. A highlight included a stunning duet with Dan Sultan. Dan is a powerhouse singer, but Ella matched him, no worries. She’s a great duet singer. Yep, Ella and Jesse Hooper are back. It’s 2008’s most welcome return.

Caught The Black Keys last night. Solid show, nothing spectacular, but solid. I think as a two piece, it's very hard to create that energy and enthusiasm but they do it well. Not too many songs played from the latest one, a good mix of tunes including old fave's Set you free (second song in) and Have love, will travel, which i think was in the encore. The only song i was keen to hear but didnt get a run was All hands against his own, oh well.

do you mean you need someone to purchase them for you because you won't be able to, or literally just buy you some? Spiderbait are doing two shows in the coming months, it seems a bit random, maybe they're finally warming up for a new album. neither are in Melbourne though 18 July 2008 - Caloundra RSL, Caloundra. 11 October 2008 - RNA Showgrounds, Brisbane - QLD.

i went to my first ska show last night! it was The Moonhops, The Caribs, and the Melbourne Ska Orchestra. The Caribs were these guys in their 70s who were Aussie and apparently a huge part of the Jamaican dancehall/rock steady scene back in the 50s. The Melbourne Ska Orchestra were cool, it was about 30 people on stage, with this really cool Jamaican dude up front who would drum, conduct with drum sticks, and sing. then they had various guests who would come up and sing a couple of songs each, it was cool. The Moonhops The Caribs Melbourne Ska Orchestra i wish i had a photo of the whole orchestra on stage cos it was fucking insane, but they were on my side of the stage and angled in the other direction

i couldn't stand faker in the year 2005, they were supporting EVERY band i went and saw... and especially on the TFE tour.... i can't remember anything from when they supported Billy, except for thinking "wow that guy's pants are way too tight". i like them, but i think they're probably one of the few bands that are better on cd... i'm still going though Josh Pyke is doing some warm up shows for his new album (Chimneys Afire): THU 11 SEP – Metro Theatre, Sydney FRI 12 SEP – The Zoo, Brisbane THU 18 SEP – Prince Of Wales, Melbourne FRI 19 SEP – Governor Hindmarsh, Adelaide i fucking love this guy
