Brent said the Dadnies had Adelaide covered in the Sunday mail after these dates were announced which was really odd, i guess something fell thru which sucks, i am a fan.

Yeah there was an interview with Pete in rip it up a couple of weeks ago where he said they would definitely be playing adelaide too. weird, love the dandies although their bdo performance in 04 was woeful, need to see them again to restore my faith in their live performance.

yeah i saw them at Vic Market for some free Channel V thing, i think it was at the end of 2004 or maybe 2005. aside from having the worst case of hayfever ever, it was just a really shit day. i only knew a bunch of songs, but what i did know just sounded very meh. they didn't even play We Used To Be Friends, which was a bit odd. i saw Regurgitator last night, it was so fun! i don't listen to them much these days except for a few songs, but i forgot how much i used to like them back in high school. anyway half the reason i went was to test out my new camera before i see The Music this sat. pics here - www.flickr.com/photos/57913824@N00/i saw a few SP fans there too - Trevor, and that guy Woody who i didn't ever properly meet, but i saw him around at the Sydney & Melbourne shows. i don't think he posts here though...?

I think they probably vary greatly show to show, ive seen footage where theyre spectacular and like i said, really love them, thirteen tales is among my favourite albums, but they were haveing a bad day, the sound was all muddy on top of everything else but courtney was only half singing and you couldnt even hear zia. I saw courtney walk pastduring flaming lips later that day too, he looked fucked up, so that would probably account for it.
Breeders were fantastic as Kerrie said. Banter highlights included: Kim saying about Kelley- "You'd better watch out, she's in a foul mood tonight" ; Kelley muttering something about not making enough eye contact with the crowd and her and kim talking amongst themselves for some time before someone in the crowd yelled "hey we're over here!"; After kim had said something about florida earlier in the show, she asked if we liked adelaide, there was a generally unanimous yes before someone yelled "its not as good as florida", to which kim replied "i live in dayton ohio. with my parents, actually its kinda like adelaide... lots of serial killers... dahmer started out there."; And at the start of a song kim was talking about her mother having alzheimers, "and i said to her if i start this song "not lost but gone before", then what should i make the next line? And in her alzheimers addled brain she said "HEEERE NO MORE, HEEERE NO MORE"" *In maniacal voice something like the witch fro mwizard of oz.

Oh thats a great setlist! ... whats the last track, Prince? is that as in ! (the song formally known as)? or a Prince cover? Also who's on drums these days? ... Prince = the song formerly known as. it took awhile for me to click that that's what it was, so it was a nice surprise when they started playing it. the girl on drums was new, i can't remember her name but they said she's filling in for now because their other drummer (the same one that was on Band In a Bubble?) just had a baby. she was really fucking good too, probably one of the best female drummers i've ever seen i think.

it's okay i'm over it now, just trying not to think about it. it could be worse, if it was one of my favourite bands i would have been devastated, i like them and everything but i'm not a huge fan. and the ticket was only $60, i'd be pretty mad if it was a $130 arena show. i've been cranking Rotten Apples today to try and get my mind off it. have fun at Sigur Ros tonight!

Woohoo!! Just got back from Cold War Kids at The Metro in M-town. Freaking AWESOME! Landed a last minute free ticket from a mate too which made it even sweeter! St John went off and they were joined onstage by support band Delta Spirit for it.
Also just back from Splendour in the Arse Festival. I was sick so I totally half arsed my experience of it. Had VIP tickets so sat next to Operator Please while watching The Vines and felt like i was experiencing some cheesey/crap Aus Rock moment that i should have enjoyed more than i did.
Sigur Ros were fantastic. The Living End and Paul Dempsey were my favorites in terms of entire sets being mind-blowingly good.
Cold War Kids were joined by The Fratellis on 'St John' though so that radical aswell. The Grates kicked arse as always. Patience was dressed as 'bat woman' and went nuts in ever song.
The crowd for The Wombats hits 'Moving to New York' and 'Let's Dance to Joy Division' were some of the best i've ever seen. EVERYBODY in those tents was up and dancing, singing, shouting, cheering, waving arms etc. I love seeing that stuff.
Oh.. and MGMT are booked to Headline Meredith Music Festival in December + Aus tour but it's yet to be announced. WOOHOOO!
And i saw that Jebediah are doing a gig at the Evelyn in October. Crazy town. I thought they were dead in the water. I'll be getting my arse along to that gig for shits and giggles.

Nope Jebs are not dead, they are just having a break, breaking up with their manager of 11 years, Kev's recording a new Bob record at the moment, the other members are either working in local record shops or playing in other bands ... they've demo'd a few tracks for a new album. Think its going to be released next year sometime.
We saw them last year, they played a one off show in Perth. It was insane, awesome live band with such energy and such great songs ... but Im bias, since they are Perthies. They were my first all ages gig, $7 for Jeb's, Fauves and Mach Pelican ... good times in the 90's!

I'm going to see The Mess Hall tonight, should be alright.
I'm feeling better about the Dandies snub right now, not a fan of their new one at all! Will give it time.

I thought that they have been playing a lot of Franz on JJJ lately and said to jessy that their must be a new album soon. We saw them at the BDO but it wasnt the same as a solo gig, i would LOVE to see them - they are such handsome chaps!

Apparently they have too many songs for their album and dont know which ones to leave off, there are several configurations they're toying with, but its otherwise done. I'd like to see them in their own show, missed most of their bdo set for volta.
