Thats cool, i havent seen any tour posters in syd yet. im sure they're around though. I am looking forward to seeing the band, i have kind of re-evaluated my thoughts on the band since the new lineup. cant wait to experience them live. will be an interesting comparison to last tour.

Yeah, you sure are doing the fans a service Wombat by selling tickets at an inflated price which they could have otherwise purchased at cost price if you had not. How you managed to justify that one to yourself boggles my mind. Go sit in the corner and listen to FOL.

I know! Sounded great. I really wonder how much they might switch the setlists up. From the first leg of the US tour to the second, songs like Hummer were dropped but Disarm was added. Widow Wake My Wind was dropped but newer tracks like Freak, Tom Tom and Spangled were added. Also Astral Planes was the opening song for a good portion of both tour legs, but then few of the later shows Song for a Son started the gigs. The sets did increase as the tour went on, I think the first shows were around just over 90 minutes and now they are near on 120 minutes. I guess that was just the band finding their feet etc as the tour progressed. I'm hoping Zero stays in the sets, I think them only playing that once on the last Australian tour was great but it was a highlight for many people and was missing from most of the other shows. So with anything the Pumpkins have ever done, we can never second guess it all. If we are playing the 'what I'd like to hear game' these would be 7 realistic tracks I want to hear at least once on the upcoming tour: 1. Zero 2. In the Arms of Sleep 3. That's the Way (My Love Is) - the full band version is sounding great, while I loved the acoustic version this is it for me. 4. Gossamer - After nearly 2 years they've never played it here, I would love it hear it ... all 20 minutes of it. 5. My Love Is Winter 6. Tom Tom 7. Here is No Why - this one is never going to happen, but worth a shot huh? * - I chose 7 because 7 always appears in Pumpkinland

Here is no why would be freakin awesome! I wonder if its because they rarely played it live i like it so much. I dont think Bollys vocals these days would match the mcis live versions tho. also on my wish list - ruby or bodies... one can dream. thumbs up for gossamer, we missed out last time.
oh plus tristessa!

4. Gossamer - After nearly 2 years they've never played it here, I would love it hear it ... all 20 minutes of it. If they do play it hopefully they play it right at the end like a few of the latest sets that way I can leave 20 minutes early.

Hey guys, been a while since i was on here, but did u see the latest show- 3-10-2010 in Scotland... Alot of the songs are ones that James Iha used to sing, like 'blew away', 'a night like this', etc.
Does any1 know who sung them, did Jeff take over or is billy singing those songs now? Just curious because the sydney show is almost a week away, and im keen to see what they play.

its against the rules to call out song requests, don't you know?! Billy will get angry! remember to not talk during the quite songs! don't call out about past band members either!
Pumpkins in melb are always controversial: Adore: james left stage a couple songs early TFE: Billy dropped the mic and walked off Zeit: finished with 2 non SP songs and no encore
I really want this concert to go well this time and finish on a high !

Listening to that interview on Nova is cringeworthy... I guess you have to do what you have to do to get some press around the tour, but fuck me.
Apparently the new album has been out for a while now... ummmm
thanks nova.

So a friend of ours randomly at the Perth Airport last night, while Billy was there after his flight landed. He had a chat with Billy and said he was really in good spirits, nothing much to report just ... he seemed happy and yeah. That is about it. Also, I'm pretty excited!

Speaking of that tour there was an interview on Mixdown where Billy spoke about the 2008 Australian tour: "This Australian tour seemed to come out of nowhere. What’s the deal? Well, kind of out of nowhere we got offered to go to Jakarta. One of those last second, ‘Hey, do you want to do this?’ things. They had us going over to Asia literally for two shows, and I said, ‘Why aren’t we going to Australia? It’s silly to go all the way over there and not go to Australia. I don’t care what you have to do, just make it happen.’ So they put a tour together. We’re really excited. Of all the places we went to in 2007-2008, Australia was probably the high point of all that touring. I’m really looking forward to going back." mixdownmag.com.au/2010/10/08/smashing-pumpkins/@russ - It is the convention centre Also, I'll be posting setlists here ... hope nobody minds? I'll put them under spoiler tags if anybody isn't wanting to know.

Yip post the setlists - I'll probably check setlist.fm as well but it looks like they have a pretty firm setlist sorted over the last few months so not expecting much variation. NZ show is last and its not at Vector Arena so hopefully the sound is much better than last time

Holy crap - just won a meet and greet with Billy through FasterLouder. I'm shaking - what the frack do you say to someone you've idolized for 15 years? haha I saw that (I'm Scott McIver from Auckland a few comments down from you) Awesome work dude. I've met him once albeit briefly and all I got out was "thanks" i was just too awestruck. I shook his hand while he was onstage on the TFE tour as well but obviously that was a non speaking time as well. If I win the Auckland one I'm gonna take my sister and make sure she keeps reminding me to speak
