I guess we need to find out closer to the date which theatres they actually plan on showing it in.
I'm suprised they put it on in 3 theatres in melbourne , so i guess they must be planning on a fair anmmount of promotion to fill it
Speaking of which i'm down to help hand out anything

Just called Village again. The VIC screenings (Jam Factory, Southland and Knox) will be at 9pm and there's no ticket pricing information available yet.

let me just add, that i hadnt seen the trailer that is on www.ifallgoeswrong.com it must have slipped past me - but F**K ME it looks brilliant! Though i wont be able to shake the vision of BC in a night dress for, say, the rest of my life! And how funny is his little hissy fit - throwing an acoustic guitar - on to a bed - in a night dress - and then stomping his feet and waving his fists around - hahaha rock'n'roll baby. and one last thing - does anyone find the inclusion of Pete Townsend a random choice - or is it a convenient tie-in that the same production company has a Who doco coming out too? Perhaps there is an SP/Who link that i am overlooking?

Perhaps somebody is writing an article on that very topic ... with some answers from the bald man himself (should be up either next week, or the week after)

you read my mind - like a good PMM should. Thanks in advance.
Oh, and i was assuming you meant the Pete Townsend thing - not the night dress, though that has the potential to be an interesting article.

haha yeah on Pete, not the nightie! Also Greater Union just got in contact with me (world gone flipflop there), I should have more information and confirmation tomorrow ... also tickets "could" be on sale via Greater Union tomorrow, of course we'll email everybody as soon as we know - as always updates will be via the site, email, myspace, facebook, twitter ... so no excuses!

I know that Billy has stated in the past that he's a big fan of the Who and of Pete's solo work. Also, the pumpkins have covered the Who a few times; a great cover of "Join Together" in the Machina or Adore era.
I think Billy looks toward artists like Pete Townshend, David Bowie, Bob Dylan etc as artists who blew up big in their respective decades and managed (Dylan, Bowie) and those that struggled (The Who, Pete Townshend Solo) to remain relevant or to get past the errm categorisation that they suffer.
For example, take The Cure, who's sound has evolved/changed, lineup has changed and yet managed to move past up and down record sales, lineup changes, etc etc.
I remember Billy talking about "Wings" which was Paul Mcartney (of the beatles; just in case....!) band following the breakup of the beatles and how that flopped but had some great songs...etc
So, I think it make sense for Pete to be on there as an artist who has struggled to maintain relevancy or even strength as an artist to continue in a climate where his audience either wants him to play songs from his 'hey day' with the Who, or even reform the Who.
I see alot of similiarities between Townshend and Billy when you take into consideration their respective roles in their bands, Pete being the central songwriter for the Who etc etc, both bands even sharing troubles with their drummers....
Ok.

Fantastic, did they give you any sort of indication as to the ticket price - for some reason i am just guesstimating around $30 - but perhaps that is way too high, espeically seeing as it is only the doco portion (is that correct) and isn't that quite short?

Ok, just spoke to the same guy at Village - he thinks I'm a crazy stalker for sure... Jam Factory tickets are $18 for adults, $14 concession Knox tickets are $16.50 for adults and $13.50 for concession. Both of these sessions are now available for purchase, via the website villagecinemas.com.au/ or on 1300 555 400 No info on the Southland session, however the guy @ Village suggested that it might be on the VMax screen, but it's pretty unlikely, as the latest blockbuster release will inevitably draw more money from the average cinema goer than this SP doco. Melbourne kids; should we wait a few days to see if the Southland info comes out or just buy Jam Factory now? EDIT - I've made a Facebook event for the Melbourne screenings. www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=34604202166

EDIT - I've made a Facebook event for the Melbourne screenings. www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=34604202166i'm pretty sure all Village cinemas do allocated seating, so if for example it's going to be a bunch of people going alone and meeting up it might be cool if everyone got to sit together? but that would mean someone volunteering to pay for a whole bunch of tickets at once. i was originally thinking i'd go to the Knox one since it's local for me, but then realized probably none of my friends would want to go with me, so is it okay if i join the group please? as for Southland vs Jam Factory, isn't Southland kind of a hole? at least if we went to the Jam Factory there'd be places to go afterwards for coffee etc, i don't think anywhere at Southland would be open once the screening is over.

You're right Bec, Southland is a hole and nothing will be open after 9... at least with Jam Factory we have heaps of choice for food and drinks.
EDIT - Just spoke to Village again (they love me) and it is allocated seating. The website lets you book up to 10 tickets at once, however I have left a message with the Group Bookings/Corporate Events chick to see if there's any benefit (i.e. cheaper) if there's a large group of us.
