hey everyone, I just finished seeing a pumpkins show at the fillmore (27th) and it was absolutely amazing. Unreal! the band were sensational to say the least. Anyway before I rant on bout what songs were played. the very show I just saw and the one tomorrow night was/will be filmed for a doc/ live show DVD entitled "Live at the fillmore" apparently. Anyway yeah there were cameras everywhere and when we were lining up a guy with a "SP film crew" sticker came around and interviewed a few people, me being one of them since I made sure he knew where I came from. He basically was inquiring as to how we saw the pumpkins.
Then when we finally got in I and (two sp nuts chris and oliver who I had pretty cool conversations with) made it to front row to the right with me being just to the right of jeff with him blocking my view every now and again of jimmy. I got as much footage as I could but ran out bout of battery and storage bout 4/5 of the way.
The guy who intervied me and Chris sat just on the other side of the barrier and basically tookfan shots of us three with me being rather energetic through United states. Im so hoping that Im on the DVD. We were speaking to a security guy just before the show started and he said that they were told that the film crew were putting together the film for either a seperate DVD of the show or as the bonus DVD for the zeitgeist album that will come out in due time.
Anyway billy was in an awesome mood and also where I was standing when jeff was standing where he was and the way the amps stood that when jimmy looked up he only could see me and not the people to my left or right. During thats the way my love is he looked up and I gave him a massive wave and he smiled and raised his eyebrows. He did this again later on but I cant remember what song. Also during the rather awesomely reworked heavy metal machine when jeff was shredding all over billy, jimmy was laughing and was looking at me shaking his head at jeffs pro display. I must say Jeff is no slouch on the guitar. The show went on for 3 and a half hours with the last song gossamer going for probably 20- 30 minutes which included a massive drum solo by jimmy that had billy dancing around to the beats. Gossamer was probably the highlight because it was just a barrage of unbelievable guitar with jeff sometimes standing out like dogs nuts with unbelievable guitar work. Him and billy just hammered it and Jimmy was so much more powerful when live. he flogs the crap out of those drums and what a set of calfs. there friggin footballs. They didnt play muzzle or aeroplane which i should be disappointed but too happy to be.
Also billy played a song called 99th floor which is a really awesome acoustic song which featured all the band members. Then they played a really heavy instrumental which was wicked as. Anyway I dont know the whole set list off the top of my head but yeah got my shirt, jumper, free poster, ticket, footage and the memories for sure to keep me happy. Anyway people its 2am here and Im off to have a look at this footage
Viva la pumpkins

Sounds like you had one hell of a Pumpkintastic time, Rusty! I can't even imagine how awesome the atmosphere would've been at the Fillmore Shows. Just thinking about it makes my body go rawk or something. It's a hard feeling to describe.
As for the actual DVD itself... this is fantastic news! I'm really looking forward to this one.

From SP.com [Artwork by Linda Strawberry] THE SMASHING PUMPKINS TO RELEASE DOUBLE DVD SET - 'IF ALL GOES WRONG' Features Full Concert in High Definition and Revealing Documentary Coming Home Media will release If All Goes Wrong, a double DVD commemorative package celebrating the recent reunion and extraordinary 20-year career of The Smashing Pumpkins, one of rock's defining and most acclaimed bands, on Nov. 11th. Directed and produced by Jack Gulick (Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Steve Miller Band, Godsmack) and Daniel E Catullo III (Steve Miller Band, Godsmack, Rush, Dave Matthews Band), the two DVD set contains the 105-minute documentary, also titled If All Goes Wrong, plus The Fillmore Residency, a full concert filmed in late July and early August of 2007 over five of the 11 sold-out nights at the famed Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA. The concert disc was captured in 5.1 Surround Sound and state-of-the-art high definition from 12 cameras and features seven all new tracks not available anywhere else, along with new versions of fan favorites and a selection of Pumpkins rarities. From the opening note to the final chord, the documentary If All Goes Wrong showcases a band returning with an "enveloping epic force" (Los Angeles Times) as it traces The Smashing Pumpkins during their 19-show residency, which began with eight shows at Asheville, NC's Orange Peel in late June and continued through 11 sold-out nights at San Francisco's famed Fillmore Auditorium. Interviews with band members, fans, journalists and fellow musicians reveal the fears, excitement, determination, exhaustion and tension inherent in main singer-songwriter and lead guitarist Billy Corgan and his newly revitalized musical unit. "We went into the residencies hopeful to play some new music, with the idea I would write during the day and we could maybe even play new songs that same night," Corgan comments. "What I didn't anticipate is how much the process would inspire me, positively and negatively, to report what I was seeing and feeling from the shows. The documentary shows that process in an interesting way that reveals the link between the band and our audience." The documentary also includes Voices Of The Ghost Children, a featurette about the band's fans, and an interview with The Who's legendary guitarist and songwriter Pete Townshend as bonus material. The concert portion of the If All Goes Wrong, entitled The Fillmore Residency, runs 115 minutes and includes seven of the almost 20 all-new compositions the band composed and performed exclusively during the residencies that are available exclusively on this release. With 15 songs in all, the concert - captured in 5.1 Surround Sound and state-of-the-art high definition from 12 cameras - showcases the band as they explore the freedom afforded to them in a live setting, including the 30+ minute opus "Gossamer". Along with the new tracks, the concert also includes alternate versions of fan favorites and a selection of Pumpkins rarities. The Fillmore Residency also includes five songs recorded live from the floor of The Fillmore that gives fans an intimate glimpse of the band as a performing entity. Wow. I can't wait to see this. Don't think much of the artwork, but the content sounds amazing.
I wonder if any of the interviews Kristin did at the Horden will be used in the Voices Of The Ghost Children featurette? I'm hoping that mine isn't used because I'm pretty sure it consisted of "mumblemumblemumble BILLY! WOO SPRING BREAK! mumblemumble". But still, it would be awesome to see some Ozphorians on there.
