G'day folks, i think i'm the only regular admin not there - What kind of fan am i? hehe
I'll try update stuff on here as it comes through from different places
Foxy send me a text 40 mins ago (I was at footy training) - He says the sateg looks good and they got a good spot. He said he doesn't know if he can commit to texting thru every song but he will see (who could blame him)

Josh said that they spoke to BC and kristin before the gig and BC was in a really good mood...glad that seems to still be the case mid-gig! I havent heard anything from the since the gig started, but who can blame them - i wouldnt be thinking about poor me (and steve) sitting here either! haha.

just got back from the gig, the set list was essentially the same as the NZ shows; although we got cherub rock as an encore. Billy was in a good mood, he went on about peter garret and how awesome it would be to see him run america...

hi all, the gig was excellent my first australian sp gig, last time i saw SP play was Machina back in London. This was a fantastic gig purely for the variety of music we got to here and BC was happy and talkative.
I saw Ozphoria chalked onto the pavement when I left the gig which I thought was cool, nice one guys for creating an australian smashing pumpkins community!

they did the whole britney spears send-up again, that was damn funny. they did 'that the way' acoustically which sounded good, and united states was awesome.

Fantastic! I was hesitant upon hearing the first few songs but got so into it, the time just flew past. LOVED Starla and United States, and the Cash Car Star/Piece of Me melange Nice to meet you too, Josh sunky and Bree

STARLA! we got starla, ah god it was brilliant, not a lot of recognition from the crowd, but the solo got them into it!
ah, the gig was all class. 2&1/4 hours, some awesome jams. the cash car star version was awesome.
i hate sydney crowds though. every gig i've seen up here has had a shit crowd. it took about half an hour for people to start getting into it, but after that it was reasonably party. i had two drunk guys behind me for a while, prize comment was "i reckon they'll close with bwbw", two songs AFTER they'd just played it. bit of a circle/slam pit started up which if you want to fair enough, but it was starting to impact on the people around it, and eventually some poor girl unwillingly got dragged into it and knocked to the ground. idiots.
i cant wait for the rest of the gigs. the band were simply awesome. i enjoyed it so much and was so high and happy from the music it felt like drugs.

Sounded freakin' awesome. And wow, Porcelina....
There's dicks at every show :/ That's one reason why I really wished I could of gone to a sideshow instead of V Fest.

I know exactly what you mean. You know I was beginning to think that I had a sign on me somewhere that said "ATTN: BOGANS, COME STAND NEXT TO ME AND ACT LIKE IDIOTS" but I think it is more to do with the fact that so many Sydney-siders fall into that category. I had one guy behind me, who was dressed like he had just stumbled out of early 90s Seattle, smoking pot the entire time and yelling out after (and sometimes during) every song PLAY ZERO, COME ON MELLON COLLIE. I am rather proud of myself for having the willpower not to punch him in the face. So frustrating. Besides the little bogan cluster behind me the crowd were relatively good. I think everyone was taken off-guard by how early they came on (the Hordern website had them scheduled for 8.30) and the crowd took a while to get into the swing of things. Plus the opening songs were relatively slow and kind of obscure from an average fan perspective (not for me though, Porcelina, Behold the Nightmare, MAYONAISE!! all awesome). Mayonaise and Tonight Tonight got some people in full voice early on but it wasn't until BWBW that everyone around where I was started to really get into it. Jimmy is so amazing too! Their live sound owes so much to him, the drums were just monstrous during the big rock out songs. I'm not mch of a Superchrist fan but I have to admit that it really does kick ass live. Anyway I am completely drained and tired so I will leave it there for now. Great show, but I was expecting nothing less .

I just didn't appreciate the extended bit of dissonance during United States-just took the momentum out of the song, well in my opinion. The dude behind me f8*king loved it-THeir opening and closings were highlights, and I really loved "Crush"...I was just saying to a friend "I'd love to hear something from Gish", and 2 minutes later I got it, yayyy! Night Mare was really excellent, love what they did with it!

What a show guys, the band are happy and sound great - we can't ask for more. Billy signed stuff for people after the show, Vic asked him if he knew about Ozphoria - and he was "Oh yeah I know those guys, I don't go on the internet much though, fan sites are the for fans - no need for me to read them" ... AWESOME! Also Vic asked him about the Metro DVD, i've got his answer on video too, he sais "The record company we are suing at the moment is why it has never been released" But for the gig itself - amazing - epic ... I can't descirbe it. I was a drying mess during the first few songs, I just couldn't beleive what I was hearing ... but to have all of our friends from here within "high five distance" that made it even more special. Photo's coming soon, I have video to upload but our internet here is really slow. Might wait till Im at home.
