I noticed there were quite a few more people going to the meet and greets (ozphorians) I was expecting to notice about 4 or so from the frontier comp but was there other ways of getting in other than frontier? did they have media passes and things like that? I just couldn't help but be a tad envious when they all came out with their promo shots.

I only got in as a girl my sis knew won one through frontier and i got the phonecall - I believe our friend Jimmy who posts here won a competition elsewhere. So i guess there was two compeitions in Adelaide perhaps. Other than that, going by last tour, if you want to catch a glimpse of them, you may need to prepare for a long day and hang around the venue. Last year in Adelaide a couple of us went for a walk mid afternoon to the back of the venue and caught a wave from Jimmy, though he didn't stop and chat. About 8 of us also had a once in a lifetime conversation with Billy during that tour but that wasn't at a venue. It's really a game of luck i guess...i've kind of going on a total different rant now i know

Festival Hall hs a 11pm noise curfiew as its semi residential area.
work backwards, 2 hour set = 9pm start with the 2 cut out songs it was 2:15 in Perth.
doors will be 7:30 support will be 8 to 8 30.
I cant see the band being on in only 15 mins after the last band finishes. , they should be on at 9 but be there by 8 30 just in case.

Depends on which door you're going in. Door 7 on Dudley St next to rear of stage left has a little bit of shelter. Door 11 and 12 just west of that? Nope. Cloak room? Nope. Doors 3, 4, 5, 14, 17? Nope.

Hey guys, just a heads up, the Frontier comp now closes at 2pm today for all cities except Auckland. So for Sydney and Brissie fans who have been holding off on entering, best to do it today. Really glad I checked that this morning. Sorry if this has been posted before and everyone already knows.

If anyone is wondering whether cameras are allowed tonight - apparently the answer is yes.
Festival Hall website states: "No Cameras. The use of professional or large cameras, audio and video equipment by patrons is at the discretion of the Artist and is normally prohibited. In some cases, small "happy snap" cameras with no detachable lens, may be allowed. Please contact the venue for information regarding each particular show or access the event page by clicking on the event info link on the home page. "
I called the admin number (03 9329 9699) and there is a pre-recorded message that has tonight's running times (as per their website), then says "cameras will be allowed for this event"

What a cool moment before the show! Hope it stops raining soon, for tonight. Don't want to get drenched in line! If anyone is wondering whether cameras are allowed tonight - apparently the answer is yes. Yeah it was ok last time they played at Festival Hall - I just had a small point & shoot around my neck. Got through fine.

Festival was not that bad for a venue. Least it will be warm. It's always bloody hot in there. I've been a little less enthused about the concert than I normally would but that's mainly due to other things out of my control. I've been listening to just pumpkins all day pumping myself up for it. I'll be driving down to F-Hall shortly and 8PM can't come quick enough. I'm really looking forward to it now!!!!

I'm from Bendigo and it's wet as here, should be the same or worse in Melbourne. I went for a seat so I'll just walk in later on when the doors open up.

last night has been my favourite gig from the last 2 tours
billy was in high spirits and relly seemed to enjoy himself on stage (seems like he is in a good place)
though at one stage it seemed like he was happy just to talk banter and crack jokes rather than playing "im on drugs"
didnt check ozphoria before the gig so really happy to hear eye and landslide live
i thoght the new teargarden tracks sounded great and stood up compared to the old stuff
however i still feel that the zeitgeist tracks were the real weakpoint for the setlist - they just seem to lack melody over brashnes (maybe im getting old!) - a few people around me started leaving during gossimer (why dont they just play an extra 3 songs in the space of hat track?)

Great gig. Loved the Moby Dick solo by the Karate Kid! & his gong lol! Ava Adore is so good live! Stumblein, Freak, Cherub all good. No Drown....But we got it on the last tour though. BC still owes us some Muzzle!!!...... Festival Hall was the best show of the tour, hands down amazing! Cool. Glad I made it there then. What made it better than the other shows you went to?

So glad that the gig was great! Can't wait to see the footage from it - sounds like BC was having a great time. He seemed happy with the crowd in Adelaide. Earlier in the day at the M&G I asked him sincerely how his day had been and he implied that it had been ok but not the best. But then he said "But that usually makes for the best shows" and it turned out that was true, as the show that night was great. During the set in Adelaide he said to the crowd something like "Seems like you are all having a good time." and that makes them happy when the crowd are happy. I think he was needing a boost. And then when he was talking about Jess he said they she doesn't love him - I know he was probably messing around a little, but perhaps they didn't have a good day.
Anyway, I am really looking forward to seeing the video from all these gigs!

During the set in Adelaide he said to the crowd something like "Seems like you are all having a good time." and that makes them happy when the crowd are happy. lol He was saying there were hardly any people at the Adelaide show ("more people on stage than in the crowd he joked") He also said the Melb crowd was the best so far...just trying to make us feel special though - he probably says that at most shows where the crowds having a good time. The Melb crowd did seem pretty up for it though. There were some moments where BC seemed to feel for some screams, & he got them eventually. No real "bogans" in the crowd (from where I was anyway - about 20 metres straight in front or to the right). One on stage though..

Yeah Adelaide was REALLY empty. It was in a venue that we think holds 1500-2000. The back part of the GA floor was blocked off, and the small space that was left had people really spread out. After filming I went into the crowd to watch Gossamer and got really close, could have probably been just a few people back from the front if i had wanted - and everyone had lots of room around them. The crowd that was there were really in to it though. I didn't see anyone leave or look bored during Gossamer, and the crowd were cheering the new stuff. I would rather a small crowd like Adelaide was than have had it be a big sold out show full of wankers yelling out for old stuff.

Absolutely excellent show! I really enjoyed 2008 but IMO this was sooo much better. The whole concert just flowed and there wasn't a point were I could go and grab another beer or let alone go to the toilet which got the better of me and I missed the start of "Stand Inside Your Love" The crowd was kept more involved than the previous show and we all responded accordingly. Thumbs up to the guy that nuded up on his mates shoulders. HighlightsThe Fellowship - Heard this song for the first time yesterday and was hooked. Song for a Son - Honestly not one of my favourites but this was incredible live. Bullet with Butterfly Wings - The crowd went f'ing nuts!!!! Zero - Another one that sent the crowd nuts at this point I decided I had to go and buy a shirt during the next break. Let downsVery few and only knit picking Myself - Looking at set lists for previous shows in Australia. I had a fair idea of what they were going to play. That took a bit of excitement away, not much but a bit. Gossamer - I would have liked to have ended with something better but for what I got earlier in the night it's hard to complain. As I said I'm only knit picking. Flood Lights - I was in the seated area and every time they turned those on I couldn't see a thing! There was one song when they were on for nearly the entire track. There were so many highlights of the night. I went in not really familiar with the newer stuff as I would have liked but it didn't take anything away at all. This was a a show I was probably not that enthused about than I normally would have been and I can't speak highly enough about it after seeing it. I am so glad that I went. I hope someone did a recording of this so I can experience it all over again! Please!!

The crowd that was there were really in to it though. Good stuff. Absolutely excellent show! I really enjoyed 2008 but IMO this was sooo much better. The whole concert just flowed A lot of the crowd (mainly younger) just doesn't have the patience any more for those longer, musical moments that were in the 2008 shows. & as much as Billy feels they're right to play, he's losing much of his audience during those times. Felt the same during Gossamer last night - a few had the "are we there yet" expressions going........people just can't stay in the moment & appreciate quality musicianship for what was a minor part of the whole show - they should know that the Pumpkins are all about diversity on & off stage, but you're always going to have those there who showed up either for something to do or through word of mouth of their mates hoping to hear the singles only of course.

Melbourne Show was great Last night! I think the Setlist had a nice mix of classic songs, and new Material. The crowd was much better than any previous shows, but there were still a few "Jerks" in the crowd..... I had a guy next to me yelling out to Billy some shit about being a hack because he has no record Label, and that both him & his wife both hated him. I just don't get it! why do people go to gigs if they don't like the artist ? , but he did change his attitude when some of the "classic" songs were played......typical i suppose, this is exactly what Billy is always talking about, the apparent fans, who go to a gig wanting to hear their 5 top songs, and get shitty if they don't. There were 2 young girls in front of me also, who I'm sure this was their first gig, lol. They spent most of the show taking photos of themselves on their Camera. Managed to also coerce some dude to roll them a spliff, which was also paraded around like some kind of strange trophy. All in all though, a wonderful show, many standout songs. Mike truly proved himself, this was the first time Melbourne has seen his talent, and I think all the people who doubt his skills don't have a leg to stand on anymore, he was spot on, and like an animal, just kept on going!, Moby Dick is no walk in the park, and Mike Blew us all away with his energy! I was happy about Gossamer also, this is such a fucking great every evolving monster of a jam, such great riffs. I think Billy and band were able to have little jokes, which most the crowd probably did not fully get, like playing classic little riffs like stairway to heaven, basically a tongue and cheek dig at the fact that casual fans just want to hear stuff from the past, you know the whole "play that one song i know" thing. Hope you all enjoyed the show, I think it's a sign of great things to come, people seemed to get into some of the new material, which was great, and i think Billy appreciated that, he seemed in high spirits. ....lets see what the reviews say in the papers next week, i hope they don't do what they usually do and make shit up like they did when Billy came out for his Future Embrace Tour "billy throws mic, and walks off stage" lol, i was at that gig in Melbourne, and that's not at all how it went down.
