Hmm, well i'll be arriving back in Melbourne (from Adelaide) at about midday, so I don't think i'll be getting to the venue until about late afternoon. Door 6 btw.
You guys meeting up somewhere beforehand?

Ahh... when did that get put there? Haha. I never check that forum, y'see.
Something worth reiterating in this thread is that there is confirmed to be no support act before SP come onstage at Festival Hall. I wonder if this is the same in all the other locations?

Queens are playing with them in Adelaide
I have a feeling Sydney is SP only also?

do you have a GA ticket? assuming ur over 18 that is cuz the GA is the best view there or the balcony at the back above the GA.
Sounds like there will be a few of us there from 2 pm on wards , when does your flight get in?

festival hall... don't wear any clothes you don't want drenched in your own and other people's sweat. it's like a sauna in there.

Im coming over from Perth for the Melbourne side show, Ive never been to a gig at Festival Hall, can someone tell me is it any good? it's alright. it used to be my favourite venue, but i've come to realise it's pretty much shit unless you're in the front two rows.. but that could just be cos i'm short. the sound quality just isn't that great, and the place is pretty old/falling apart. there's plenty of space to spread out though if you're in GA, the floor space is wider than it is deep, so i guess it has that advantage over arena shows. for anyone who doesn't want to get there super early, i've found in the past that 6pm is a good time to arrive and will still get you up close. i know it varies for each show, but that's generally the time i show up for most shows there and i'm almost always in the front few rows.

good thing is, as your seeing adelaide first, you'll love it so much that you'll buy tickets for melbourne the next day

festival hall is a shit box in terms of heat - i just about dropped flat in the ratm mosh and had to down 4 poweraids after the gig before feeling vaguely normal. still, A fucking awesome gig.
i'm up for a melb post-gig catch up.. should have abotu 15-20mates going to it so i'm not sure if i'll be lining up early or pre-emptively celebrating at a pub somewhere.
not all GA entry is through door 6 either so check your tickets. i was seperated from my mates at RATM because we weren't allowed to enter through the one doorway.
also, i got to RATM just as Anti-Flag were ending their support slot and i managed to get 3 or 4rows back from the front. not too shabby when you consider i didn't wait 5 hours in line. ie.. it's fairly easy to get in amongst it even if you arrive late.

yeah, getting to the front at festival hall is easy. ESPECIALLY if you have a female, you just put her at the front and then conga line it in.

Like a netphorian in billy's dressing room.
So, are we going to try and stake out the band exit out of Festivus Hall like I assume most of us did at the TFE gig?

hopefully we can hear soundcheck, door 6 is out the front, opposite the stage, there are also doors 5, 4, 3, which are literally next to the stage
